Hello!
Hello,
I'd like to introduce myself. I found this forum on google and signed up. I just purchased my first Rolex - a Submariner No Date. I have a few other watches but never really liked the Rolex Submariner much. I always thought it looked very old fashioned and somewhat dated. Maybe it's because you see the same design in so many other watches and Rolex hasn't changed it over all these years... but over the past year I grew to like it. I don't know when exactly this happened. Somehow I started to appreciate the design and understood that the Sub was the original design that others copied and over time it became the ubiquitous "dive watch" that everyone knew. I looked at the Sub with date but I didn't like the cyclops all that much. It seemed like an additional thing that just stuck out of the crystal. I like having the date function most of the time but the cyclops just threw it off for me with the Sub. When I saw the No Date, it really spoke out to me. The symmetry is there in the face and there wasn't the cyclops bubble to break it. I happened to be on vacation in Japan and went to a watch store. I saw it on display and I had to have it. The dollar to yen exchange rate was pretty good and I picked up for a good price. Here is some of the other watches my new Sub No Date is keeping company with now. |

Tell me about it! I got my Tudor Black Bay which was like a gateway drug to getting the Sub...
I may put the Black Bay up for sale because in every case I'd wear that, I find I'm putting on the Sub now. Not to mention they look similar as well! |
