Anxiously awaiting arrival!!

As a fifth anniversary present from my wife I will be receiving this week (awaiting delivery to the jeweler) my first Rolex, the SS Submariner. Very excited and eager to feel the weight of this remarkable blend of engineering, craftsmanship and art on my wrist.

There are, in my opinion, a few sensations that can only be adequately described in words between people who have shared that sensation. The way a that the golf club, ball and body seem to become one thing for that instant you make impact on a well struck iron shot. The feeling a ski makes when you’re right on top of it as it flexes then rebounds when carving a perfect turn in new snow. The thump of the door closing after settling into the driver’s seat of your dream car as you prepare to drive it home for the first time. The way a well aged, perfectly cooked, steak looks, smells, feels and tastes when you take the first bite. I anticipate that same type of experience when putting on my Rolex for the first time and, hopefully, every time thereafter.

Got it, Love it!!!!

My wife presented it to me at dinner on Friday evening and, except for golf over the weekend and sleeping, have not taken it off.

The wieght, feel and "solidness" are, as expected, difficult to describe to someone who has not worn a watch like this.

I'm having trouble taking and attaching a decent picture but will send once I have done that.

Amazing machine!
