Tudor submariners and water proofing

I have a 1974 Tudor sub 7016 and have been asking about having it pressure tested. As a submariner, I would like to swim in it. OK, I know it is 42 years old, but it was designed to be dived with.
Now, Rolex AD says no can do.
Local says can do but after, he wouldn't swim with it. ( What's the point then? )
So, guys, opinions please?
What age to professional watches become redundant?
Any watchmaker in the UK, ideally Cotswolds / Oxfordshire who could check it?

If it's pressure tested you can even dive to it's rated depth, but why would you risk damaging a vintage watch? On a modern watch it is no problem as all parts are readily available and you won't notice when you get a new dial and hands, with vintage you can't.

Yep, that's the problem. A vintage watch in good condition can have gaskets replaced and be perfectly good for swimming - I did the gaskets myself in an old Seiko diver, had it pressure tested, and swim with it all the time. However, something can always go wrong. Many divers have failed when they were young and the consequence was that it got new parts or was binned. New parts are no longer available for your 7016 and it is too lovely/expensive to bin.
Risk is the same, consequences are higher.

I have a Tudor Submariner. Wear it EVERY day. Love it.

However, I would not swim with it (or exercise or do yard-work). Too risky IF some part were to fail (particularly when swimming).

I have a Casio Iluminator I bought at Wal-Mart for $15.95. Serves me well at swimming and yard work, etc. If it breaks, I'm out $15.95 and a 20 minute trip to Wal-Mart for a replacement. If my Tudor were to fail, it's weeks at a repair center and a bit more costly.

Just my thoughts.

Well, for peace of mind, I had it checked and they have certified it to 100m. I'm happy with that.
