Need to ship a rolex overnight delivery!!

I need to ship a Rolex from one state to another state and I am trying to find a way to ship the watch overnight delivery and still be able to insure it for $7000. I am finding that FedEx, UPS, DHL, and all of the other overnight carriers will not insure the watch. I even called my insurance company to see if they will provide an insurance policy for the shipping and they will not. How does everyone else ship their watches? Any recommendations on how to ship?

I can send USPA as priorty mail which is 2 to 5 day delivery and they will insure for my required amount, but I am trying to receive the watch next day.

Any recommendations?

thanks...

FYI USPS priority is not garanteed 2 to 5 days... once it took 15 days!

I have purchased a great deal of jewelry and had it shipped via USPS. Most jeweler's will only ship via USPS for the insurance reason. USPS has done well by me. Make sure it is insured at FULL value....it might be stolen. My parents has my mother's engagement 3 dimond ring stolen from USPS when the jeweler sent it out for repair. They were devestated, but we well compensated for the loss. Good luck

Above $5K, and I always use USPS Registered Mail. It's not overnight (sorry), but it's tracked every time it changes hands. As far as I know, none of the carriers will do overnight with insurance over $5K. I'm not sure how the ADs do it. Perhaps they have different policies/limits for commercial jewelers. Anyone know?

They use companies like Parcel Pro, but there is a process to get set up with them. I called them and spoke to a rep. They do not work with just anyone. You have to be in the jewelry business and provide references. They want to know who they are working with since they are extending insurance to you. Too complicated for me as I am just trying to ship one watch.

I am just going to ship Priority Mail, registered. They say it will get to me in 3 days. Priority mail will insure up to $15K. USPS does offer Express Mail but max insurance is $5K like you mentioned and it will take 2 days to deliver. I need $7K in insurance. Do not want to risk the $2K just so I can get the watch a day earlier. Not worth it!

Thank you everyone who responded. This has been a lot of help.

Depending upon where it's coming from, even USPS Registered could work. I've shipped watches as far as Ohio and Florida--from CA--in that time. The one thing I will say about Priority is if it is lost, it can be a lengthy and difficult process for them to try and back-track it. With Registered, it must be signed for every time it changes hands. It is also much cheaper, and they will insure it to $25K. It does require special tape, but most POs have it. No question, it is the surest method for shipping watches in the US.

I looked at that last night and it seems to require a business to open account which I don't have.

How much insurance did UPS provide on your shipment? It was my understanding that the overnight carriers do not insure above $500. FedEx is $500 and I was told UPS is about the same. How did you get UPS to insure above $500?

USPS Registered mail is the way to go. Safe and pretty reliable. Big drawback is their so called tracking database, it is simply awful (never updated on package progress until after package is delivered).

u should express ur point to your local custom then, not the sender and not the usps or ups.

and usps priority mail 2-3 business days service is for united states only. USPS = united states postal services

I think I insured mine for around $5000....no problems. I don't know what 'maximum' UPS has, but I've never had an issue.

I think you got lucky.
If it's lost, UPS or FEDEX's insurance will not cover jewelry and watches is my understanding.

Strange....wonder if my UPS store is different b/c of who owns it...? I've shipped a few high ticket items and have always had full coverage from them.

Be careful using UPS to ship your watches. I called UPS and they will not insure jewelry or watches. So, if it gets lost I think you will have a difficult time getting them to pay.

LOL I have a home in the states. This was shipped from Utah to New Jersey. I would surely have mentioned customs if they were involved.

Check their website, the service (timeframe) is not guaranteed.

Maybe the postal carrier had a date and needed a watch to wear?
