Rolex Submariner 'Tiffany'

Saw this on the Bay and was really surprised - did Rolex really have co-branded watches with Tiffany (or anyone else for that matter)...and do they still do this sort of thing today...?

Fascinating

Yep, I don't know if that is a real one but Tiffany subs (with paperwork especially) are pretty rare and can be worth a good deal.

You think that's strange wait until you come across a Dominos Pizza Air King!!!!

Cartier, Tiffany and some other hyper jewelers had their logo stamped on the dial, then when the accountants took over Rolex S.A. this stopped AND that's why Cartier or Tiffany jewelry stores do not carry Rolex watches anymore, among some other Micky Mouse Rolex made do's and dont's that these two would have none of it..and rightly so, I mean who was Rolex then to dictate policy..lol.
You got to be carefull, there are many good fakes out there, real Rolex dials with just the logo added.

Though a bit dated, this might answer a few questions.

Apologies Jim, I thought you were joking about the Dominos Pizza Air King until I followed Mike's very informative link (thanks Mike, learnt a lot)

The guy I deal with at Tiffany told me that Tiffany could once again represent Rolex. He did not know if they would be co-branded. Tiffany recently signed an agreement with Patek (again not sure about co-branding) for their flagship store in NY. South Coast in CA is expecting to eventually participate with Patek - They say that the Patek display will occupy a large part of the entrance to their store in South Coast. I thought that was interesting...

Hey, Ex-Sub. I knew Jim was serious because you can't make stuff like that up! I, too, followed the link, and was duly impressed by how easy it is to make something fine look cheap!

Thanks Joeskie...I heard a motivational speaker quote this about 10 years ago and it's become something of a mantra for me...I certainly believe it's something to live by and if a few more people thought like this, the UK might not be feeling the effects of the credit crunch so badly today.

I wonder how many Rolex owners appy this thinking before making a purchase...?

Thanks again

Paul
