New Australian AD comes to the rescue again.....

We hear all too often about the problems that arise in buying watches and the way dealers operate.

However, Grima in Collins Street, Melbourne, Australia came to the rescue yesterday (like superman ) and did a fantastic deal on a TT Sub for me.

Mr. Grima and his cheery, friendly team agreed, at my request, to let me change boats mid-stream and switch from a pre-ordered DSSD to a TT Sub, and all with an amazing discount on top my way (but I personally made no gain). No if's or but's, just great down to earth (down under) service.

Now what you may ask is in it for me, nothing, I get the great pleasure to provide another member of this forum with a great TT Sub, to his exacting specifications (and price)

I didn't realise but it really does make a significant difference in buying a Rolex from an authorised dealer with such class and professionalism, it really does add value to the watch on a personal level.

Eddie (Directioneng) loves his watches, and he is not a flipper so I really hope he loves this TT Sub. He has never seen it before so it is my pleasure to give him a sneak peek.

Actually Eddie did help me buy my Milgauss GV at RRP so thank you Eddie for that .

P.S. The above photo does such an absolute injustice to the beauty of the dial on this watch, you really need to see it in person to appreciate it's superb qualities. I'll leave it up to Eddie to attempt to post some photos that are commensurate with the beauty this watch deserves.

I'm keeping this watch in the package for Eddie. It is his watch so I will let him show it in all it's true glory.
As for the price, it was very good, again out of respect to Eddie, as I acted essentially as his agent, I will not publish those details.

Sorry John I will not be able to deliver this personally to Eddie.

I guess the DSSD is quite a large watch and it seems that the watch is not going to be so difficult to find (as rumour has it) and the blue dial called, so on that basis the TT Sub was the clear choice (or so I am led to believe).

Hi Buz,

Well, Steve rang me and told me that Grima in Melbourne had a Milgauss GV for him if he purchased another Rolex at the same time.
I thought about it overnight and asked Steve to ring them and ask if they would sell a DSSD with the GV. I would buy the DSSD and Steve would get his GV. They agreed and the DSSD was paid for (between Steve and me until delivery time). Deal done and Steve picked up his GV.
Over the next week or so Steve checked with them and it looked as if this DSSD would not be supplied until close to December and to me it seemed that Grima were holding out on the supply of the DSSD and I think they actually had one in the shop as all this was taking place (as a s/n for the DSSD was given to Steve by accident??) but they would not part with it at this time. I think they had some special open day coming up and they needed the DSSD on display to drum up sales.
Because of this (and because our money was going to be tied up for so long) I asked Steve to approach Grima and ask if they would supply a Blue TT Sub instead of the DSSD, it would need it to be an 'M' and with a discount if possible as I could get a discount from my local AD. Steve came back with Grima's acceptance of a Blue TT Sub with the GV and the discount was better than I could get in Adelaide.
Thank you Steve for the time you put in and for the extra discount. I'm happy that you got your GV.
I still might buy a DSSD once I have tried it on for size. I don't think supply will be a problem in a few months.
