Rolex Cloth

When you purchase a new Rolex watch, are you supposed to get the cloth that says "Rolex and then "Rolex Cellini" with the watch? Here's a link to a picture of the cloth (not my picture).

My "M" 16610 Submariner did NOT come with that cloth, however I always see the cloth in the pictures people take of their newly acquired Rolexes.

Does my AD owe me that cloth?

No, It's gone the way of the Sub Anchor. The only thing you get is that little 3 inch square piece of leatherette. But if you ask nicely they usually pony up..

Actually I think it is a conspiracy to drive up the cost. An artificial "shortage" of the things so people will buy one at an increased cost so they have a "complete package".

Yes, I think your AD should have given you one, unless the watch was used or something. Every Rolex I've ever bought came with one, (all 6 in the last 20 years) I might even have an extra somewhere and if I do you're welcome to it Mretzloff.

Larry, I agree. It's annoying how companies always cut prices...I'm still mad how they cut out the heated wet cloths for economy class on airplanes.

Paul, thanks for the kind offer. If you find an extra one and would like some monetary compensation, PM me with your PayPal e-mail address.

What!? No heated wet cloths in economy!? The Barbarians!!!!!

No compensation necessary Mretz. Let me look this weekend and if I find one (or if I don't) I'll PM you for your address and send it on out. If I remember correctly, this is your first Rollie right? We've got to make sure you're set up!

I wish they gave away, or moreover included in the package with the watch, one of those cool rolexrolexrolex polishing cloths. Really spending $7K on a watch, it isn't asking a lot to get one of those branded cloths.

Agreed they should provide it... - I have bought a few Rolexes in the past couple of months and not even one cloth provided. Just the little leather clothe that comes in the box.

Speaking of which, what exactly is that leather cloth for? Certainly not for polishing. Does it have any real purpose? I just left mine in the box.

Rolex hasn't shipped their watches with the old white polishing cloths in the boxes for a few years now guys. Its not the ADs fault.

You'll need to ask that from the AD. One of my AD's did not give it and I'm just too lazy to drive 40min for it. Maybe next time I drive by it.
Most have more and you just need to ask.

Polishing Cloth NP!

My D series tt subdate blk dial came with the cloth, is still in almost perfect condition. My M series ss daytona did not come with a cloth, but I noticed two stacks of cloths about 4 inches high sitting in the drawer behind the AD's counter so asked and was rewarded two of them. The sales lady was so happy for the sale that she came around the counter and gave me a hug (thought she was going to kiss me for an instant), she was in her early 30's, blond, very nice looking and taller than I am (5' 11"), I was a very happy fellow...

I also didn't get a Rolex polish cloth when I bought my Daytona couple months ago, except for a small piece of leathery cloth.

However, a girl at the RSC in Singapore gave me a polish cloth with their advertising when I inquired about some minor dents on the bezel in less than a month. I have been using it to polish my Daytona instead of the one that came with the box. Do you think I should keep it and sell it on eBay in some years

GRRRR OK
Now I am PO'd!
I have the Sub manual for my DSSD (most people seem to but I know they have a SD manual so I will have to get on my dealer about getting me one)
Also
I didn't even realize that I didn't get a cloth with my DSSD but I did with my SD and they are both "M"

I thought the cloth was some fru fru type of handkerchief. They do wash up very nicely I must say.

It's all about how assertive you are.

You should have asked, then insisted you get the cloth if they have any around.

Go figure, I didn't take my own advise in one instance. I dropped my SD off at the AD who sent it in to Rolex Canada which is 2 subway stops north of my AD. When I went in to pick up the watch at my AD when it was ready from Rolex Canada, it came back in a sealed envelope inside one of those gold-cardboard Rolex boxes. The AD after-care attendant openned the box and inside was one of those Rolex-Cellini cloths with my SD wrapped up in it. The attendant cleaned my watch and then threw the cloth under the counter.

I already have one of those cloths, but I'm certain that that cloth was mine from Rolex Canada and I was entitled to it and had I asked for it, they would have given it to me NO questions asked.

I believe the AD knows there's a market for these kinds of trinkets and they sell them on ebay under a seudo-name.
