Thinking of flipping PO8900. What? I know.

So I picked up a new PO 8900 last October. It's a great piece, and the things I didn't care for on the 8500 (flipped) were corrected in my mind. I was excited to get it. Fast forward a few months, I unexpectedly picked up a DSSD-Blue. The thing has hardly left my wrist. The 8900 is by no means a slouch, but it just doesn't come near the D-Blue for me. The 8900 now spends most days sitting in a spot on the winder.

I hate having watches I won't wear. I'm debating on flipping it (along with my Tudor North Flag towards a subc date or maybe black dial Explorer II to wear on those days I don't want something as big as the D-blue or sporty dressy as the GMTIIc. I have my pepsi, but I don't want to wear it in more harsh environments for various reasons.

I'm torn though as I think it's a wonderful offering from Omega, but sits in the shadows of the JC. A part of me will miss it, but the other part will hate myself for just letting it sit there.

If I flip it, I'll be losing some diversity in the collection. I'll be almost all Rolex with the exception of the BBBlue and my Zenith. It'll be the third Omega to have come and gone. Some may say flip it for a Speedmaster, but I've never been a huge fan of them which I hate because of it's history and my liking of things space related.

Any input in either direction will be nice.

I agree with the others. The PO is an awesome piece. However, it doesn't do you any favors sitting on a winder and not getting wrist time. Sounds like it's time to release in order to make room for something else. There are a lot of fantastic watches out there to enjoy.

If you're wanting to stay with Omega for variety, have you checked out their new Racing series Speedmasters from Basel this year? Judging from your owning the DSSD and PO, their diameter will be right in the wheel house but thinner than either of those two you currently own. Impressive METAS movement in 44.25mm case. Multiple dial and metal options and look quite striking in my opinion.
