2 years in, what's the current consensus on the Tudor in-house movement?
Title says it all really. The MT5601/2 Tudor in-house movement has had I think 2 and a bit years now out in the wild.
I know its early days, but i was wondering if there have been any glaring issues that have arisen in the last couple of years of the movement being in circulation? Is the COSC accuracy and 70hr power reserve holding up to expectations? |

I own four Tudors with the in-house movement. Two Pelagos, Blue and LHD, a Black Bay Bronze and a Black Bay Black. I could not be more pleased with the accuracy, plus one a day on average, and the 70 hour power reserve is spot on. I am looking for an update to the Heritage Chrono line up for the new in-house.

I have only heard good things about the pelagos accuracy. That watch seems to do quite well.

I own a few Rolex models and a Pelagos with in-house. The Pelagos keeps better time then the Rolex's and has about an extra day of power. I love the Pelagos for many reasons and think the movement is outstanding. Also looking forward to the new SD43 and it's movement.

my pelagos is very accurate and the power reserve is indeed 70 hours. pleased with the in house.
the issue becomes if it breaks. according to searchart you have to replace the entirety of the movement. some threads on this as well.

yes i had heard that re the movement replacement. part of me wonders though if it is just tudor doing this because the watches are under warranty and they want to error check them after 'real world' testing. I've also heard reports that the movements are serviced sometimes as well, so i don't know what to think there.

I've been loving my Rolex, but REALLY got bit by the Tudor bug.
Would love a blue Pelagos with the in house movement. And a black bay ETA just for the hell of it :) and the smiley face dial. Hope you guys enjoy your MT movements! 70 hour power reserve sounds amazing

Can an independent watchmaker service a Tudor inhouse movement or need to send to Rolex Centre? I heard they charge Tudor watches the same servicing cost as Rolex. If it is the case not worth it.

Need parts. As such you need a parts account or have to send it in. One of the reasons I like ETA movement.

Last set my Pelagos on March 1st because of the date. It's +4 since then. Couldn't be happier

My Pelagos is -2s/day. I'd prefer it to be on the + side, but I'm a-ok with -2s/day. I just set it a minute fast and leave it until the next time I have to change the date.

My NF is 15 months old and has been rock solid. It runs -2s/d and like johneh, I wish it were on the plus side but I can live with it. As the power reserve is exhausted, the watch tends to slow further. The positional delta is only 2s/d. It makes a great every day, wear anywhere watch.

I own a Black Bay Black (Noir) with the in-house... it's accurate and loses about -2s/day just like johneh and Friar. I wish it was +2 seconds a day, but I can live with COSC specifications. I really do appreciate the 70 hour power reserve though!
Note: If I leave it resting dial up, it keeps perfect time (+/- 0 seconds per day) My Rolex OP39 is +1s/day. Really lucked out with that one :) |

Owned a Pelagius blue for about a year. Ran great just too big of a watch never got comforatable with it. Maybe it wears smaller in the water:)

My LHD has been extremely accurate +4 sec in 7 days. I wear it frequently so haven't given it 70 hours without wrist time. Great watch.

2 years in, what's the current consensus on the Tudor in-house movement?
I've had my pelagos nearly a year. It enjoys about 30/70 wear with my sub. While I haven't measured it I find it to me more accurate than its brother over a month or so of wear. I have tested the power reserve however and it indeed runs for an impressive 70 hours! Albeit a noisy movement, I'm very happy with it!

The Tudor movement seems similar to the 3235 to me. |
