Wow! Serious accuracy!!!

So I set my YM to the atomic clock on Tuesday morning. Set it to the second.

This morning I went to check it and it is within 2 seconds! IMO that is profound accuracy for a mechanical timepiece especially considering that I didn't wear it at all yesterday. Stored the watch face up when I had it off.

Impressive to say the least!

Very good - within specifications!

How you store your watch will probably not impact your accuracy

My SD is about +5 sec per day

I thought that you could regulate your Rolex depending on how you laid it down at night - with more seconds being lost if you laid it on its side crown down ?

Most of the modern fast beat Rolex models don't respond as much as one would think to the resting positions. You'll frequently see a recycled pic of an old Rolex guide to this though.

That said, play with yours if you care and see what happens. You may get some result that you can factor into the behavior of your watch while on your wrist.

I have three Rolex watches of different types, all under a 14 months old and they are pretty steady no matter how they rest -- in a winder or in a variety of positions on the night stand.

I read that this applied to the watches with a flat spring. I tried regulating my Sea Dweller by laying it in different positions each night and the result was always the same

Thenk you Big Hat and Seantk. I will play around with mine to see if it makes a diference but it sounds as if it is the older models that you could regulate in this way.

Wonderful accuracy Richard. My Sub ND was set to the second on the 8th of this month and it is now two seconds slow 18 days later.

I have read several places on the net that if you lay it on the 3 side it will tend to gain and on the 9 side it will loose. Flat on it's back it performs like a ... Well you get the idea of timing! <<<Blush>>>

Yeah, it seems to have more affect on the older slow beats as opposed to the modern fast beat movements.

The clock on TRF is the clock on your computer. Not a good way to compute gain or loss of time. Use a reliable source.
