What distinguishes this Deep Sea as a fake?
Thank you Sean

What do you mean IF.
It IS a fake. Why not post them on a forum? Everyone needs to be educated in what a fake looks like so that they don't buy them for thousands! |

Sorry guys but this is NOT a good fake. The serial number is in the wrong place for starters let alone all the things wrong with the dial, fonts, hands, bracelet, clasp, case back...

It is quite possible that the photos are from an authentic SDDS.
But they will ship you a replica........ Should be posted under "Watchout" |

This is the reason you buy an authentic Rolex from an authorized dealer.

Because it's a fake, does this mean it will only go down to 12,799 feet?
Thanks for posting & for the tips. It's always good to have knowledge in these things & hopefully stay one step ahead of these fake b@stards.

Many small errors. But, the average person has never seen a DSSD in person and would need to compare side by side to detect the difference. There have been fakes available for the last 6 months. They first started with the standard SD case and later redesigned the case to look more correct.... but added a polished center link. This is the most accurate yet. Give them another 6 months... they are now using a GEN to measure from... and It will be very good. Buyer BEWARE! Excellent REPS out there!!! And many Gens may contain some REP parts...

The Bezel didn't look like ceramic. No shine or reflections.
