Vintage Manual Wind Daytona?

I have heard around the late 1970's the Daytona was a manual wind. I also heard the ADs could not practically give them away. We all know how popular the SS Daytona is today. I was wondering if anyone knew the exact model of this watch and some of its specs. I've been told IF and it's a BIG IF you are fortunate enough to find one it will set you back 25-30K depending on the condition.

On a similar topic, does anyone know what the most valuable vintage Rolex happens to be? I know PP holds the record with some World Timer selling for 4.3M give or take but I would be curious to find out. Thanks.
