Spotting a fake watch is like buying fine wine. Only a few know what they are talking about, the rest have no clue and buy the bottle because it has a pretty label.

I must be getting better at spotting these, cos I had doubts the first glance at the photos, but not enough reasoning to post 'fake' yet. In about another 10 years I'll get there.

Dont wait 10 years - by that time people will post a real Rolex and EVERYONE will claim its not as good as the "counterfeit" :

its best to tread cautiously. just get some eyeballs on it and let the mods do their job -- they're the best at this stuff.

icon can be a just enough. it opens it up to scrutiny and alerts the community without saying anything, really.

and, the OP was fishing long before this thread when you see their previous posts. that "watch" could very well have been on the classifieds in short order with this thread to back up the sale reasoning.

If you can tell me anything that you can see that would be great so i can sell it to someone else

Looks like this watch may be back under username Jamyjames in the Rolex general discussion thread. Reported to mods, if my untrained eye is incorrect my apologies.

I'd like to see a good fake if this is a "very bad fake".

To be fair, this was originally posted in General Discussion and not many people cast a critical eye over photos over there.

There was a BLNR incoming posted a year or so ago that wouldn't have fooled a blind man, and it still got more than a page of congratulations posts before anyone pointed out it was a $5 junker.
