Let's face it. Odds are you'll end up with both. I would go for the LV first...might be harder to find down the road.

Alternatively you could just brush the links on the GMT bracelet and switch out only the clasp and end up with the same result.
Yep, that's what I have- BLNR with SubC bracelet.

I originally bought the SubC, and loved it, but kept eyeing the BLNR. Rationalized that I could use the GMT function when I travel. So I sold the SubC watch head, keeping the bracelet. Then I bought a BLNR and put the SubC bracelet on it. As you said, best of both worlds.

The GMT function is nice, but not a real need. But, I like having it, and love the blue/black bezel.

I'm sure I'm going to take some flak for this but what do you guys think about the subln vs sub lv? Dp you guys think the lv will get old (meaning the novelty will wear off, what my dad used to call hot buy syndrome :-D)I would've never guessed it was going to be this difficult to pick my next watch. When i bought my first "nice" watch, I walked in to the AD and walked out with it. Would you guys buy another black faced diver and wear them both? I guess im just trying to make sure I look at all the angles before I go and drop $10k+.

I say start with the classic before the novelty. Green sub is a stunner, but sometimes I don't want the attention. But BLNR grabs attention also..... I would start with a dark classic for a first Rolex.

Good advice. You can’t go wrong with the classic SS Sub. That would be a very rational choice and a safe one.

I thank you guys for the advice. I'm going to hint them down and try them on in person first chance I get. One quick question for those who own both. How much of indifference in wear have you noticed? I've read the flatter case back of the blnr makes it sit quite a bit closer to the wrist. Is it noticeable?

The glidelock and the brushed center links would tend to shift me to the Sub camp given those two choices. However you could pick up a 16710 and get a GMT with brushed links like I did.

IMO, Sub > BLNR because:- (1) its a Sub (2) BLNR bezel is too busy (3) Sub has the Glidelock

It depends on what else you have in your collection. If this will be a one and only, then the BLNR is likely more flexible for daily wear.

That having been said, the LV sings to me much more loudly, so when i voted with my wallet, it was the LV i went for

Get the Sub if you don't need the GMT function, simple as that

So upon many many a pic studied, I think I'm leaning towards a sub. Now the question is, the ln or lv? I have an omega with a black face. Would it be too much to buy another black faced diver or should I go green? (And not in the environmental sense) :-D

Both are great choices ...... but I would ask you do you travel a lot into different time zones. If so, the GMT is the watch for you. If on the other hand, you often want to track elapsed time ... the the sub is the more better choice.

GMT vs sub, Both are winners in my opinion and I would strongly suggest get both if you can.

You won't regret when you look back in future

Clearly the right answer is both

But if you can only have one... wear them both and see which one sings.

The easylink does take care of that 'wish it was a bit looser' or 'a bit tighter' scenario that fits most people's use and slight swelling changes.

The glidelock on LV for example has allowed it to be worn by myself and my wife. She wears it at its tightest setting, and I can wear it somewhere mid point.

Gmt or sub

I prefer a GMT, for the added complication.

All good info guys thanks. Mineral, I like how the jubilee bracelet looks on that sub. My datejust has a jubilee and I must admit at first I wasn't a big fan but the more I wear it, the more I'm starting to like it. What do u guys think? How does the jubilee stack up against the oyster bracelet?

LV, the sunburst dial is nothing short of stunning.
