Help Needed: Rolex Investors Wanted
Hey everyone!
This is my first post and wanted to say what a great place this is! Not only to get information, but to interact with some really cool people as well! My question for everyone is... If you could get information on Rolex all compiled into one place, what would you want that information to be? What information would you love to read that would keep you coming back to it over and over? I'm looking forward to all your insights! |

Welcome to the forum.
Factual information about when different models were made and differences on the models. Information on wether my watch is waterproof and how many fathoms I can dive to, and if my watch is dishwasher proof would also be useful |

I would love to have detailed information about each "class" of watch going as far back as possible in a quick refrence style format so you could carry it around. Electronic format or book.

Don't we already have a Rolex Reference Library here...
So far, the information there has had over 90,000 hits, so people seem to be coming back for more...

I'd like to see a difinitive "authorized" detailed history of the brand.
A complete catalog of watches produced and patents held. I'd like to know the details of the production process, from R&D and quality control and how these have evolved since the beginning. I'd like to know more about the personal life of Hans Wilsdorf. |

Investors wanted?
What are you talking about? Are you trying to get people here to give you info so you can go start a pay site?? No thanks, we have TRF and do not have to pay for the wealth of information. If someone wants they can donate to TRF to help support the site and I hope more people do but from the title of your post and the face this is your first post it sounds like you are fishing for people to give you info for your pay site and then try to take members from here to your site.

You're barking up the wrong tree. The knowledge gained from this site (and others) is a small part of the reason that brings me back, it's the interaction with fellow watch enthusiasts that I enjoy.

Then whats with "Rolex Investors Wanted" ????
People here don't buy their watches as investments. They buy them because they love fine quality timepieces. If you are looking for investor information go read up at thestreet.com and pay attention to what they have to say.

What is the purpose of this question, maybe if you disclose the purpose the answers can more suitably satisfy your question?

Let' be fair to the newbie...
OK everyone, take a DEEP BREATH and calm down...
Yes, we're all a cynical bunch, and yes, my alarm bells went off as well... but let's answer his questions with the generosity this site is renowned for... Q 1: "My question for everyone is... If you could get information on Rolex all compiled into one place,... A 1: It's already compiled, place is called www.rolexforums.com Q 2: ...what would you want that information to be?" A 2: Dear friend, I suggest you spend a few weeks and go through all the threads and posts on this forum. This will give you fantastic insight into what information we like to discuss. Q 3:What information would you love to read that would keep you coming back to it over and over? A 3: See A1 and A2

OK
What keeps us coming back Reading the posts where they are picking on JJ and the funny pics of JJ. I don't think that could be duplicated anywhere. How many forums have their own resident Telly Savalas clone. I bet many of you didn't know JJ was also a Honky Tonk singer
