Congratulations! Such a classic watch and I’m happy you finally have what you’ve being desiring all these years. It feels good to finally obtain something and it’s always worth the wait. I still remember how much joy I had when I bought my first Rolex. It’s really unforgettable. Enjoy in good health!

Congratulations on your great looking 16610 Sub! The ceramic isn't for everyone. The 16610 is really a sharp easy wearing watch and pictures don't do it justice. Wear it in good health. Cheers!

Great job!

Prior to owning an nice watch, I had my eyes on an Omega Seamaster 300 five years ago. I could have picked one up for about $3000. On a whim I tried on a Sub. It felt SOOO right on my wrist. I decided not to make the same mistake others here have made by buying a starter watch and ending up buying a Rolex anyway.

$2500. Eep! Too much money for my younger self at that time.

I ended up buying a $100 Citizen that I kept until sometime after 2005 and stupidly sold (I got tired of getting new batteries and getting it pressure tested annually).

I've had Omega and Doxa (keeper) and many micro brands along the way. From big to small. Always fun, but they never satisfied the craving.

It's okay to have dings and scratches. That was a HARD lesson to learn and live with. If I couldn't deal with it on a $500 watch, how could I handle it on a Rolex??

I've had opportunities to handle and try on several 16610s along the way. It was still calling to me. So I knew the desire was not gone.

I stopped at an AD a short time back and tried on 116610LN just to see if I would like the new version, and it just did not do it for me (Though I may revisit it in the future.)

I finally decided to go all in get this done. Hell prices keep going up as I have seen. And though smaller than a lot of previous watches I owned, it sure seems to have presence!

Here it is. Thank you for reading.

I have a 2001 16610 and I purchased a LV bezel insert original for $140. I am so happy since I paid $3840 total for my setup. I don’t care to resell it bc I never sold my stuff before.
