But you have to ask this important question: will the atomic clocks still be transmitting during the zombie apocalypse? You certainly don't want to be late for a pedicure with hungry zombies lumbering about!

I'm not going anywhere in a zombie apocalypse, I'm staying home. All my watches will be kept in the safes for typical rotation, along with everything else I'll need for the apocalypse.

Obviously this is a cartoony discussion, but if we take the premise seriously to explore it properly, here's my answer:

The main use I have for a wristwatch is to tell me the precise time on demand as quickly as possible with maximum legibility in all conditions. I expect it to be supremely reliable and as maintenance-free as possible. It should also stay secured to my wrist with as little chance for it to come free unintentionally as possible.

Any complications outside of the 3 hands needed for precise time are just asking for trouble. Date functions will go out of whack at some point for sure, even for the mighty SkyDweller. GMT serves no real purpose, rotating bezels are potentially a good idea for helping to time things, but also introduce another failure point.

There are really only two choices left, according to my criteria, the Explorer (which I own), and the Submariner No Date. After all, if and when the bezel breaks or fails, it basically becomes an Explorer at that point anyway.

The OP range might work too, but it doesn't offer the oyster lock clasp, it has very little lume for night time visibility, and the stick hands/hour marks combo is arguably not as fast to read as the sport dials.
