Blue or Black TT sub

Let me pose another viewpoint for consideration. The black and blue dial TT Subs are both extraordinary watches and you cannot go wrong with either one. Here was my train of thought that led my choosing the blue dial Sub, and this is just my personal opinion.

The TT subs are absolute classics. Some see them as outdated, but I see them as a timeless icon of Rolex. The TT Blue face Rolex Sub is quite possibly the most popular and most recognized watch in the world. Another classic, (that I learned to admire in my short time here) is the SS Sub. Now this Sub only comes in a black face version (with the LV as an exception). Maybe to say it better, blue isn't an option on an SS Sub. So, to me, I chose the TT blue face and added the SS black face to my wish list. Both of these watches will carry extremely high demand over the long haul and both can be reasonably argued as the best. I see the choice to pick the TT blue as the perfect opportunity to one day own the two classics in terms of Submariners.

There are too many other interesting, neat, and desirable Rolex's for me to seriously consider owning two TT Subs (blue and black). Quite simply, too many other Rolex models would be higher on my list to collect. So, owning a TT blue and one day a SS black will represent the two icons of the Submariner and will also show significant diversity between the two watches.

Well if you ever want to change from blue to black or black to blue you can always change the bezel and dial. I think Rolex will do this?

although the two are iconic, the bluesy IMO is a little more of a personal statement that says I'm an individual, I don't really care what you think. It's being a little louder but with great taste.

I have always liked the blue Submariner, but the black is also superb! You can't go wrong either way in my opinion!

The Bluesy looks cheesy to me to be honest. I can see why Rolex is changing to a much more muted blue in the new WG blue sub - that one will be nice I think.

When compared side by side the new YG blue ceramic is the same colour as my TT Blue sub - I can't see any difference.

I love my blue Sub but Larry's martini picture always makes me start drooling for the black. It is very elegant and a bit more dressy.

I do own the blue and I love it. It looks awesome in the sunlight. The dial just jumps out at you. The choice is up to you though and which one you truly like. Good luck on your decision.

i went with blue
but once its paid off i will get a Two Tone Rolex that has a black dial, maybe a daytona, or the submariner, but lets hope for christmas :D

That dial blue is INCREDIBLE!

I never would buy that watch in black ( but I adore my GMT Coke ), only with blue bezel, but the TT Sub with blue bezel is also available with white Serti dial with Diamonds and Sapphires ... mmmmh ...
