Who uses all the features of their Rolex - for their intended purpose?

I use the date/time and 2nd/3rd time zones. I think the GMT is probably the most used for its true features. Even if you don't travel to other time zones, you likely have business, family, agents, etc. in other time zones so the utility is there for nearly everyone.

In a poll earlier today, most divers watch owners don't dive with their watches. So, submariners and SD's, while great and rugged watches, aren't used that much for diving.

I'll bet most Daytona owners don't use the chronograph other than when they first bought them ... especially when you have to unscrew the pushers. I'll bet most of the pushers are tested when bought and then left screwed down. No date - given up for a watch that only tells time, yet costs $2,800 more than the GMT IIc.

Speak up on how you use your particular model and what features you do or don't use.

I have a GMT.

Once in a while I will use the second time zone function. Not a function I use everyday, very helpful during travel.

I use all the available functions of my GMT II. Communicating with clients across the globe, traveling around the country, and using the bezel as a simple timer make this Rolex a must have tool to navigate thur my job successfully. And, the Oyster case protects the watch during any mishaps at happy hour.

When we travel and cross time zones the GMT is an invaluable tool. I call home frequently and it makes the transition so easy.

I use the second time zone feature as well as the jump hour on my GMT regularly. The deepest my sub has been is the kitchen sink. I use all the features on my Explorer regularly also.

Although I'm not wearing it as I type this, thank goodness for my Explorer I: Unlike others who appear to be in denial about the full functionality of their watches (!), when I wear my Explorer I, it serves every function for which it was designed!

To be honest, I was sweating on my Submariner Date until I read these replies.

Of course I wear it for swimming, hot tubs (!), and when I'm out in my kayak; no worries. Date function is easy (and something I miss on my watches that are without). The bezel is a tough one. I use it to time meetings; it's indispensible to my work, and tracking billings. And it's probably not right for me to point out that even diver's don't rely on diver bezels for diving, given today's technology.

Then, Eureka! it is true that I wore it when I was w/ my son's Cub Scout Pack and spent the night on the U.S.S. Silversides, a surviving World War II submarine now harbored in Muskegon, Michigan. I'll have to check my facts here, but I think it's actually still own by the Navy, so, I mean, what else could one ask for here?

A Submariner in a submarine!

How's that?

I use my Sub for it's intended purpose. Shoveling mulch, weedwacking brush, hunting, mowing the lawn, attending sporting events and the opera, sleeping, taking out the trash and the daily shower.

My Sub is a tank and has taken everything I have dished out over the past 13years. It has never let me down.

I'd say this Rolex has satisfied all of my intended purposes and then some.

I do the same and since I have family and friends in Asia, I use the second time zone to help me remember not to call them at 2AM

Only if you're a sonar girl who wanted to check if the water was really that cold below 1,000... or if you're locking out to play hide-and-seek with unfriendlies!

Use my GMT all the time for the time zone

Use my Sub timer for everything from cooking, to meetings, to parking meters.

I'm part of a group who own the Oberon class sub HMAS Otama, we plan on turning it into a world class tourist attraction unlike other submarine displays, this one will incorporate a sound and light show, to give visitors the feeling of being on an actual submarine during procedures like emergency dive, torpedo attack, torpedo launch etc.

www.otama.com.au

I'm heading over to Hawaii next month where the US Navy are giving me a tour of the USS Bowfin, as well as a few other things.

I can't say I have done any yachting since I got my Yachtmaster, but...

I constantly use the date function, each and every day. I have to sign a lot of documents daily so I rely on the date to tell me what day it is (yes, that's goofy).

I also use the bezel on a daily basis.
(OT...I know why the Sub's bezel is uni-directional, for diving, but why is the YM's bezel bi-directional? I don't know if there is inherently anything in Yachting that made it that way.)

I swim with the watch, in the pool, and in the blue Pacific (both in Hawaii and California).

And, of course, it tells time really well.
