I have an "S" series (1993) Daytona two-tone. The style number from my warranty paper is: R16523350B7839. My band number is 78393 with 403 end pieces and stamped T3 in the upper right corner of the inner clasp; it does not have "18" stamped on the clasp . The clasp has the fold-over locking piece like the clasp on a submariner.
Your band number indicates, by my reference material, that it was made for the GMT or Datejust, but that doesn't mean it wasn't used on other models. The style number you indicate from your post, style R16523320B78636, indicates your band is correct for your Daytona and the band number should be 78363. (I'm assuming the style number you indicated is a typo and should be B78363 at the end instead of as you've indicated it being B78636.) As far as the 18 stamp on the clasp is concerned, neither my Daytona or two-tone GMT have 18 stamped on it. 403 end links were used on GMT's, Datejusts, Daytonas and other models with 20mm end links.

I too had an early 90's TT and that had a fliplock bracelet.
I stand corrected, but I think all the Zenith engined watches should have fliplock clasps. The pre Zenith Daytona's had normal clasps, but only 19mm lugs. |

I'm not sure exactly when thle cut-off took place, but the Daytona and the GMT and the EXP II all had the same brushed bracelets..the 78360 (and their TT couunterpart). They did differ in the endpieces.. 503 for the Daytona and 501's for the GMT...
The upgraded 78390 on the Daytona gave it the better clasp, and then the 78490 gave it polished center links.. I agree with John...this would be a typo - R16523320B78636 - because the last numbers should be the bracelet style - and 78636 should be 78363.

I double checked - the last series of numbers is B7836 (no 3 at the end) and the watch serial number is N1313XX. I believe it has the 4030 movement. The watch came with the wood box - 69.00.09 code on the bottom and the 1990 Daytona booklet with the F1 race car on front and the 1982 Oyster manual (probably wrong version) with the watch profile and red out of focus shapes across it.

Sounds like you're good to go. Your Daytona came with the 78363 band which was also used with GMT'S, Datejusts and probably some other models. Your Daytona booklet sounds correct but it is doubtful it came with a 10-year-old Oyster booklet. 1991/1992 vintage Oyster booklets are not difficult to find.

Well, it is probably the wrong band as it does not have the double clasp and the date code is I11 for a 92 Daytona. I am wondering what the impact is on the Daytona's value (TT / Champaigne Dial / Inverted 9 at the middle register and Zenith movement)? Still a deal at $6500??

Thanks John (Springer). I misunderstood you. I thought the 78363 did have the double clasp. Thanks for the follow up.
