WHY does the BNLR not have they new cal.?

They’ll either update the BLNR with the new movement within a couple of years or they’ll discontinue the watch altogether and release a new bezel color. No one knows

There is a rumor that it may be discontinued based on the fact that it does not appear on the current year's catalogue. Only time will tell.
What makes sense is that there is still stock of the old movement so either one of two things will happen:
1. BLNR will be equipped with the new movement when current stock with 3186 is depleted.
2. BLNR will be discontinued once the current stock is depleted.
I am really curious to see what happens.

It actually is in the catalogue, as many have confirmed, and I myself saw while visiting an AD last week.

Because is hasn’t been released yet. We will not know it is coming, until it has arrived. No one can tell you when it is coming, although many can guess.

Just like the other movement changes through the past few decades no fanfare from Rolex for introduction. Take the change from the 30 series to the 31 series,the slight change from the Cal 3185 to 3186 and 3187.Now we have the 32 series it's the exact same size as the 31 series.Sure it has a higher power reserve by making the spring barrel thinner,but reading many posts on forum seems to me many spend their life on a machine winder so to many no real advantage. Will this so called movement be more accurate than the current 31 series extremely doubtful.So in the real world not a big difference but today if Rolex announced new type screws in the bracelets some would want the latest.

Think of what it would do to dealers if every watch in their inventory instantly devalued and customers started delaying purchases until the new version came out.

Heh, true. Although this would apply to the less popular GMT watches as well. I'm thinking dealers have enough trouble getting rid of solid-gold GMTs as it is.
