GMT Master click spring in a sub?

Hello, everyone. I’ve been a keen reader of the post for a few years. I’ve learned a lot and I’m grateful to you all!

I’ve had a GMT master for years, but I just bought 14060 sub and I’m really digging it! That said, the bezel was really hard to turn, so I took out the click spring and now it’s smooth and I really like that it’s bi-directional (I’m not a diver).

Anyway, I was wondering if it’s possible to install a GMT master click spring so I can keep it bi-directional, but get the clicks. Is it possible? Has anyone done this?

Sure, it will work. Or you could just put a little bend at the end of yours.

I had sub click added to my GMT at a local AD’s watchmaker after an insert change and it turned into a heated argument about both watches having the same click spring. Watchmaker wasn’t going to change his mind til he pulled a Sub and GMT out of the case and gave me a dirty look 👀 then pulled out his Rolex parts manual and slammed it shut True story

The updated click spring is 317-16628. I recently ordered one for my GMT and the package is marked B317-16628-D5. The length has been increased to make turning the bezel more even between clockwise and counter-clockwise. It will fit your Sub as well.
