Sub running way fast!

Hi all,

I’ve got a sub 116610LN, just over a year old and is looked after very well. I don’t wear it for extended periods of time so not uncommon for me to have to re wind every weekend when I wear it so haven’t ever noticed it’s accuracy. I’ve been on holiday for the last 2 weeks and noticed it was around 1min fast, re set this morning at 9am and it’s gained 7secs by 5pm. Something clearly isn’t right. Any advise? And does anyone know if this would be covered in warranty?

Thanks

It's covered within the warranty period.

It sounds like it needs a fine adjustment. Should be pretty easy with the microstellas. Take to AD and they can send away for warranty work.

Looks like it is magnetized. I fix mine by using a cheap demagnetizer. You can also go to RSC to do so.

Might try de-maging it first if that's not it send it to get regulated, shouldn't be a big deal.

Agree with the De-maging it. Many times when it's magnetized it really runs away, like minutes at a time. This sounds like more of a regulation error by running it on a demagnetizer couldn't hurt, they are really inexpensive.

First you cannot check any watch for accuracy the way you are doing it over a few hours.First give your watch a full manual wind thats 40 full crown turns clockwise only. Then set your watch with a reliable time source for this test any quartz watch/clock will do that's accurate enough.Wear your watch for 8 hours plus a day with reasonable wrist activity to wind it and keep power reserve at peak, check time once only every 24 hours with same setting source, write down the lose or gain do this for 7 complete days. Then average out the lose or gain over those 7 days for a accurate result, and your watch is not magnetised before some jump in on forum and say it is..If watch is then showing poor accuracy over the COSC spec after test get it regulated.

Is it one minute fast over two weeks? That wouldn’t concern me.

I have the app ‘watch tracker’ (bought it for like $5 or so) which helps with tracking your watch timing over a few days. The app syncs with atomic clock, and is easy to use. so perhaps try tracking your watch for a few days and see what is the average per day.

You definitely don’t want to base the behavior on a 9 to 5 schedule. It has to be over a longer period of time.

Demagnetizers are cheap and worth owning; buy one on ebay. A minute over two weeks is under 5 seconds a day. Really that shouldn't be an issue for any of us. I'd follow Peter's advice!!!

In principle you're right, but I don't see any situation in which +7 seconds in 8 hours is within COSC. Something is wrong.
