I did exactly this last year even after the SD4K was discontinued and even though I knew the SK4k would probably be more sought after being discontinued. It never did much for me personally and I have no regrets having the Hulk now... especially with the summer we're having in the UK at the moment the dial looks stunning in the sun!

I'd add it to the collection but not at the expense of the SD4K.

I have both but if I had to choose between the two the SD4K would stay. Seems like money is not an issue so why not add the Hulk to your great collection?

You need some more color so the Hulk should make into your collection.

Hey Chris,

Good talking to you today! Great collection. Exactly as you described. Tough call on swapping the SD4K for a Hulk. I'd recommend keeping the SD4K but there's really no wrong answer.

This. I'm assuming you can afford it and what's one more diver with a collection like that?

No way!!! I'd keep the SD4K and add a Bluesy if you really want
some color to diversify in style and versatility...

It obviously didn’t sell well because it was similar to a sub but much more expensive

Now the green sub is my fav Rolex and I would wear it much more than the Sd4k but I’d want both in my collection.

Surely you can find a way. That’s a cracking collection too!
this is the first time i heard someone said the sd43 didnt sell well. it may not be as sought after as the hulk, but its demand is obviously much much higher than supply.

It was the sd4k I was referring to that didn’t sell well.

That or Rolex decided the movement and escape valve was easier to fit into a 43mm case.

As I mentioned the sd4k was very close to the sub but nearly 3k more so I think Rolex decided its true diver needed to be distinctly different in this modern age.

I think that the sd4k was a transitional piece, put together as a limited run but not marketed as such. I’m certain behind the scenes Rolex was gearing up to produce their movements and function to fit a bigger case.

Along came the deep sea and sd43

The 11LV is a more substantial feeling watch than the 1LV, at least to my mind. I suppose it depends on the wearer. I would have the Hulk over the SD. It's unique.

I would keep the SD4k, and trade the 1680 (beside the 16610lv) for the hulk since you already have a red 1680. Good luck!

The LVc is a much more interesting reference than the SD4K...which is kinda bland.

One of the best dials in the Rolex line up IMHO.
