Icon12 Lake Success - Amazing book for WIS

Hi Everyone,

I just finished reading "Lake Success" by Gary Shteyngart. This is a fantastic book for WIS and this book has everything including a Hedge Fund PM who is obsessed about watches, Politics, including Rolex Bao Dai, Patek, Nomos, Audemars Piguet, F.P. Journe , Universal Geneve Tri-Compax and IWC.

I truly enjoyed reading this and learned much more about watches :+)

Happy Reading

Thanks for the tip. Just read some reviews and think I’ll give it a go.

I've wondered about that book.

The guy get's promo'd at Hodinkee left and right. I found him super annoying on the podcast and his contributions to their pubs were not my favorite. Perhaps I will take another look.

I read the book after seeing the Talking Watches with him. The book is ok. I'm an ex-finance guy and ex-NYer and current watch enthusiast so figured it would be for me. The watch references seem a little awkward or forced and the story is just ok. I don't regret reading it, but can't say I loved it by any stretch. Just my experience.

My assessment exactly.
I read another book by him, it wasn’t very good either. IMHO.
