Is the GMT 16710 real?
I was offered this GMT by a co-worker of mine at a really good price under $2,500. I know it’s missing the bezel the current owner seems to remember the bezel color was black (it was her late fathers watch). No info on how it’s running yet I’ve only seen the pics I’ve attached.
Stay away or jump on it? |

Crown definitely too big, looks like it’s off a sub.

Watch looks OK. For 2.5k, I'd buy it. New crown, bezel and insert then you're good to go.

or for $2300 less, buy a fake that's at least in good condition... handstack looks wrong, date too low in the window, first link in the oyster bracelet appears to be gently easing itself apart.... and it looks like someone rolled over it with their lawnmower.

I would skip. Too many weird signs, even though most parts seem genuine. Quite a gamble for $2500.

Wow you guys are smart. I feel like I know Rolex pretty well, but I couldn’t come up with anything. I think the lume would have just a little patina for the age of the watch. The markers are very white. And for sure the crown doesn’t fit. Also, it kinda looks cool without the bezel |

Adiionally, the bezel ring does not look how a genuine Rolex is made
100% fake, and I have no idea why someone would risk $ on this crap. For example, on a genuine GMT 16710 a Sub crown would not fit between the crownguards so the idea about just swapping the crown is laughable at best |

No prob. I've been staring at one of these for a while. Some of the new ceramic ones I won't even comment on because I can't tell. Now they are scary close. Some of them.
