I guess having a watch cash reserve makes it more compelling! More recently, every month I have been pulling out $5k cash until I find a watch or other items I don't need but want. If I see something I like, I go for it! More fun then dropping $25k on 20 OZ Gold every 3 months like my friend does! haha

At least your friend is paying market price for gold as a commodity. Rolex charges a serious premium for the privilege of having one of their watches in that metal - way in excess of the spot price. Not to dampen your fun, but watches aren't an investment vehicle, as I'm sure you know. PM ones, especially, depreciate. Even watches that don't depreciate typically don't appreciate at the rate a decent index fund would, so ultimately you're losing money just by owning it. I guess that works against my point of buying unworn; however, I wasn't looking at it from the standpoint of ROI, but rather as a preference of ownership.

True, my whole point is that this is the fun money. You can always make more money. Will see. I scheduled a time to see it in person!

I love my TT bluesy but the all gold is in a league all its own. If you got the funds for it I say heck yeah! Both are stunning and it would be hard to let the bluesy go but for a full gold I think I could stomach it. I would only cry till the FULL GOLD big brother arrived. JUST DO IT MAN!

I think trying them on (one and each wrist) and have friends/SOs comment to which looks nicer. I have a full PM itch and when I did the comparo, I found the 13 to have more pop (due to the contrast). I also think it’s more marketed by Rolex and as such, it’s more iconic Rolex.

For PM I’m still thinking about the RG DD40 with the olive dial.

I would do it.

I'd just make sure it is clean, does not have scratches I would not have gotten anyway and unpolished (as a 2017 model should).

and also pay attention to the end links and bracelet. too much stretch there would be a deal breaker for me.

Looking at it tomorrow! Some details:

Box papers, purchased 12/08/2017, 96% cond.

I will bring cash to prepare, but I just have a hard time letting go of my 116613! Is this normal?

Did you pull the trigger on the 116618LB? I’m considering the same trade.
