It is a gift from his secret service detail. They bought it at a secret service gift shop that only secret service employees have access to and it has the secret service logo. It's a black chrono as you can see. Japanese quartz movement. Made by Jorg Gray. Check out this link about it and his tag:

It seems to me that most left handed people wear thier watch on thier right wrist. It IS kinda odd seeing that Obama both wears his watch on his left wrist, AND wrights with his left hand.
