You're not wearing them, so i would dump them with zero regrets. No matter what your income is, if the items you possess do not give you pleasure, what's the point in keeping them?
I am willing to take this 5712 from you at 57k, 2k more than what the buyer is proposing you!

This was the point of my thread. The dealers offers on these pieces aren’t even close to the asks

but that's expected, just like when you trade in a car, the dealer needs a profit margin to warrant the purchase. You could probably get $60K from the dealer, who will flip it for $75K+. You could easily sell it for $65K-$70K yourself (more if you can find the right buyer), assuming it's in great shape.

I would keep the pateks and kermit. Perfect trio in my book. As others have said, you're getting undercut for the value of of the 5712 and since you already bought them (at likely a cheaper price) they're a sunk cost.

If they bring you joy in wearing, keep them. You can always make more money. I make far less than you but probably have a similar debt ratio and I would not trade the smile I get when wearing it for paying down my mortgage early

Im not guru of economics but I miss the point of this post. If without sweat you can get 80k net in 3 months then I think you can wait to accumulate and keep your watch.

Assuming worst condition you spend per year 1/2 of your income then end of the year you have even more that the 80.....

Really can't get the point. Sorry for that.

Well folks, I read every single post here, and I tell you I appreciate every single comment here. Thanks to every single one of you!

I have made a decision.

I am selling. I struck a deal and increased the price of the 5712 by about 15k more, but thats not all; I decided to sell a few more watches. Including both my APs and Reverso.

I feel this strong need to reduce my collection down to a few key watches that i’ll wear often.

I’ll keep my 5164, GMT (16710), Kermit, and Speedy.

I call that, a solid collection!

Peace of mind has a price. Sounds like you just found it. Congrats

Congrats, you do you. Did the same dealer buy from 55 to 70 just like that? Interesting you pick 5164 > 5712.

If it’s the same dealer, the guy was really trying to take advantage

Good call on the price, bold move on the APs, hope this gets you where you need to be.

It was easier when I threw in more items. He’s gotta make his money, and I’m not gonna blame him for that. Plus, I’m willing to pay a price for a risk free transaction.

And yes, I picked 5164 over 5712 because, well It just fits my life like a glove. Whereas the 5712 was just a beautiful masterpiece of a watch that I loved to keep in the bank vault.

Good for you! It is definitely nicer to have fewer watches you can fully enjoy.

I would t sell the 5712 but if you want to do this and reduce debt it’s totally understandable BUT the price you are getting is way off.

Solid indeed, you still have a strong Patek and the Kermit is a classic
