Rolex increasing their retail prices in this year is a strong message at a time when secondry market prices have been declining:

The 5% increase might result in one of 2 scenarios

1- Eliminating the flippers as trading margins will be tighter if not negative ( loss) hence , increasing Rolex availability for the average Joe

2- Or it could result in increasing secondary market prices as Rolex becomes more of stable commodity despite market uncertainty.

Be interesting to see how 5% increase affects PM models, some of which are already below MSRP on the grey market considering you'll be getting no discounts from AD's.

That’s all I was saying…. If you research it, which I did, no official info, anywhere, on the net, from ROLEX, about a price increase.

I think option 2 is probably what is going to happen. Many people buy Rolexes as they hold value pretty well and I’m sure Rolex will try to preserve that. I see you’re from Jordan. How’s the Rolex availability over there?.

Good Point. Also sucks for the used watch dealers who are sitting on overpaid inventory. MSRP increases and overpaid inventory isn’t moving at current prices . So I’m definitely hoping for a huge price increase

Like other parts of the world, if you don't have a good relation with the AD you are out of luck. And since Jordan is a relatively small country , we only have one AD, so you either make or break it ;)

I wouldn't be surprised to see a 5% rise in the UK

I am not sure it will impact grey prices though and ultimately will narrow the gap making grey possibly cheaper for steel sports eventually.

Wouldn't surprise me if full PM pieces increase, since the price of gold is at an all time high.

I hope not though.

AD’s are informed ahead of time and they let some of their customers know in order to try and encourage them to buy a watch pre the price rise (eg a Tudor).

ADs in the UK have already been informed about the Jan 1st 2024 price rise,

Rolex never issue a statement or press release when increasing prices - instead this is communicated via the AD network - I would be surprised if you found any official info from Rolex about any price increase ever.

Just asked my AD(owner) this morning if he has heard of any price increases coming and he says he hasn’t heard anything yet. I’m in the US. I guess we will find out soon enough!.

I texted my AD asking if there’s an increase coming on the first and said if so double thanks for getting me the new Daytona under the wire which is a nice chunk of change on a PM model. She didn’t say yes or no but attached the heart emoji to my text. Leads me to believe the rumors are true.

There are wide reports from ADs of 5% possibly up to 10% in the UK. I would be surprised if it's 10% across the board - I expect most SS sports to be 5% or close and some bi-metal and PM to be higher.

If it's 10% then your looking at £8,000 for a 36mm ss Datejust and £9,600 for a 40mm SS Datejust.

And would be more surprised if any AD would state any price rise before it happens officially authorised by Rolex most what you hear is just hearsay.

But I assume AD's must know they are coming...

Do they send out new white tags with the updated prices on them?

good point! But in all fairness, of course it’s all relative to the list price… Whether unauthorized dealer is willing to increase the discount given the price increase.
