Well, hold up everyone.

I heard the AD used the plastic coffins to send back watches for service. If they do that, then they could be friendlier to the environment in the long run depending on how many shipments they are used for.

In fact, many retailers like Walmart are going away from using cardboard and using big plastic totes on internal shipments from warehouses to the stores.

So, better for the environment it may not be. Not enough information we have.

And yes, the holograms were just as bad with people leaving them on and wearing the watches with them getting all gross, I thought one person even tried to sue Rolex for it giving her a rash or something.

I am on the fence with the stickers though as part of me liked taking them off myself but I do prefer them removing any of these things for people to obsess over.

Never seen one of these plastic shipping containers, on every occasion I have bought or tried on a watch it is bought out on a tray, covered so it cannot be seen until the SA reveals the watch.

If Rolex is shipping in cardboard rather than plastic then that’s great for the environment.

If you have enough of them, good cheap option for replacement of stacking bricks. Lol. Can save the 10 pounds not having to buy the bricks.

My thoughts as well...maybe the coffins were sent back to Rolex to be reused for future deliveries.

I wasn’t able to take a photograph but I got my eyes on one of the new shipping containers, or should I say white box. The Styrofoam insert has not changed and they still are included inside this plain paper white box.

Thru the small clear plastic behold was a YG DD …. Already sold….:(

Protecting the watch is all that's important. The shipping container is a throwaway.

On this subject of the plastic coffins. Each one has a secret dating system molded into them. As to when the watch inside was produced! I, only I, have descrambler the secret coding!

For a small Research and development fee, I will reveal them for you!

Haha, I wouldn't care how they shipped it. All that matters is the watch they pull out.

The Patek boxes look professional. The Rolex white boxes look generic... with an ink stamp.. very flimsy and cheap.

I have one LNIB available for $1500. Only used to ship to my AD and then carefully wrapped and sent to me with my fully stickered BLNR. I’ll part with the BLNR stickers for an additional $2500. Buy both for $3000 and save 25%!!! lol

Am sure the new Rolex shipping boxes work well plus they are not meant to ever be seen / in the hands of the purchaser.

For Patek 'collectors', if it is not quintuple-sealed within a fancy-looking cardboard box (with magical fairy dust) you lose from 15% to 4000% of the flipping price. We all know that won't sit well with Patek company overseers if auction prices are less than headline-making.

-----------

Rolex's are made to be worn by the owner.

PPs are generally to stay quintuple-sealed... for the next generation.

"very disappointed" that the shipping container got changed is hard to take seriously. Sorry, OP.
