With all the draconian Rolex policies I suspect nobody's surprised...

I would get a jeweller to do a little polish too. When service time comes get Rolex to complete the job.

Interesting......I'm not surprised by the price. Can't tell you what to do- but, it would drive me nuts - so, I would get it fixed.

Looks 'tough' like that.

If you fix it, Murphy will do it again.

I say let it be. Watches are made to have nicks. Mine are all covered in them. When you do have it serviced in a couple years make the decision then. That's my humble take...but then again I don't look at my watches as jewlery.

Get it polished out. You won't notice if done properly.

Buy new insert and take off the ceramic from your old insert and list it on EBAY.

It will save you some cash

Thank you for all the replies, guys!

Does anyone have a "master polisher" they could recommend that night be up to the task? I'm very hesistant to let any old jewler or service tech attempt a fix.

I guess because they can only replace one when replacing the other, but not replace it without replacing the other one when it's the other one. It makes perfect sense right?

If Hans W. was only alive to hear us whine about the little marks we put on our TOOL WATCHES!

Just think of it this way, the scratch on it today will make it easier to accept the scratch you'll put on it tomorrow. Wear it and love it man, you just added character to it.

Since the ceramic bezel is ok I'd just live with it. $825 is not worth it IMO.

Has Rolex inspected the watch?

I only ask as in their defence maybe if they have seen the damage they deem that the bezel is dented or slightly out of shape leading to the conclusion they wouldn't be able to remove the currently installed ceramic bezel insert without breaking it?

And I'm sure we have seen in the past they are willing to refit the 12 O'clock pip and ceramic inserts without the metal bezel so seems odd why they will fit individual parts one way but not the other yes/no?

FYI, Omega is the same. You cannot replace just the bezel you must buy the complete package, insert and bezel. However it cost much less $375.00 for the both.

If you find yourself a real good jeweller, I mean real good, not some 47th street back street job. They should be able to polish this out for you. Otherwise, I would pay the $825, as I thought it would be way over $1500.

Best of luck,

Dino
