Thanks Lol-x, and yes I know it would look cool with the Boras wheels.

AJ I would recommend swissstop "yellow" brake pads. They are made in Switzerland (the home of Rolex ) and are about the best brake pads you can buy. They are suitable for both carbon and alloy rims. see: www.swissstop.ch

I go with clinchers myself, so the Boras are not for me. Just make sure you glue those tyres on properly to the rims

Neilduc did you change bikes from a 750 to a 1098?

Campag does rule no question about that!

16600 and latest addition.

Just back from my first ride. Even running in this is seriously fast.

Funny you mention carbon though, my next rig will be a steelie – made from that new Reynolds stuff – 953? Or something. That’s about a year away (at least!) though.

What MTB do you ride?
i ride a aluminum framed singlespeed 32 x 20 with a fox x80 terralogic shock i built up from the frame. frames some cheap imported job with a nice coat of black shiny paint

Hmmm....pretty cool although I'd be worried that after using my alu heliums there'd be some residual alu chips left in the pads.....OUCH! I've also just recently shelled out A$400 for the campy carbon specific block/pad set up!

I rarely use the boras anyway......as a pair they're worth more than the frame!

Yes, I have to get rid of the 749 as I really ride mostly on weekends. There is no use of having both. Love that 1098.

"directioneng", that is a very sweet bike, very nice. Ride Safe.

How about an SD??

Cannondale Bad Boy Ultra Disc. Great bike second Cannondale, versatile as the wheels can swap out for mountain bike wheels.

No longer able to ride a racer due to injuries, as all middle aged sports people are probably aware, the mind is there but body is falling apart

Long live anti inflammatories!!

Serotta & Merckx, now were talking quality
Serotta Titanium is supposed to be one of the best.
I had a Merckx Titanium at one time, rode it through Italy, it was sweet (made by Litespeed for Merckx).
Thanks for sharing

The Serotta has been the most enjoyable bike I've owned.

But I can also say that I had a Colnago, and a Merckx, that I really liked a lot. A Fondriest as well. Where does it end?

Speaking of Italy...we lived there for a year, during which time I rode just about every day. One of my favorite rides was from Florence to San Gimignano & back. On my return one day, I happened to run into none other than Andy Hampsten! We rode together for a few miles. What a nice guy!
