Good to know. What do you mean by submitting a profile for the watch?

I got the call yesterday.

I've got to get in tonight or tomorrow in order to pay and guarantee one.

The way the last LE's were selling, it's a risk I'm willing to take.

Sorry for the late reply, I just saw this was a question to me. The two boutiques local to me tells me they have a new SOP in dealing with limited edition watches after the Snoopy Speedy fiasco. First off, only the boutiques are allowed allocation of the limited editions. Second, they will have to submit a customer "profile" to corporate for allocation. They judge if they'll sell the watch to you by 1) previous purchase/business 2) recommendation from boutique/relation 3) stock. They will favor repeat customers first and then have an allocation for "everyone" else depending on how many is left. This they told me is to make sure their clients are taken cared of and flippers don't take advantage of their limited editions. I've done business with both boutiques so the reps both called me to see if I wanted the watch so they needed to submit my profile if so....if it were black, my name would be on the list.....congrats to you guys lined up.

Wow, that is a very strict procedure they have in place. In the end, if the true customer benefits, then all the better. I'm just surprised, as that seems like a very Patek-like approach.

Interesting that you guys are talking about this.

I was coming to post about my recent conversation.

I was literally just informed that my boutique submitted many profiles for people that wanted the watch. I was one of two that Omega approved for this specific boutique.

It was based mostly on my history with them. They are only selling this model to repeat customers with a history.

Apparently they are doing their best, which I appreciate, to make this a very exclusive watch.

They are keeping a very close eye on this whole thing. And I'm told August delivery.

That watch is beautiful. I think that the case size will be perfect. Love my moonwatch but the 42mm is slightly larger than preferred.

It's great that the boutiques are looking out for the lovers of the brand. My only concern would be that someone that doesn't intend to flip, but has no previous history with the boutique (maybe new to the brand, or used to buying through trusted sellers, for instance) could be refused a watch. This would seem a bit unfair.

Anyways, just something that occurred to me, and perhaps only a concern with these LEs.

Perhaps just me, but I think this is a cooler release than the new Snoopy. I know it won't gather the same hype, but I like this one more.

Hands on with CK2998 at OB

I got a private viewing of the new 2016 timepieces and got to know the CK2998 :-) It's a sweet watch. classic look, great size and reliable movement. sits very nice on my wrist. The lume was amazing, esp the bezel and the lollipop second hand. I can't wait to bring it home in july/aug when it arrives!
