I have both and if it were either one to keep, it would be the blue Skydweller.
As mentioned above; they are VERY different watches in size, scope and complications. So Be certain to know the fit and feel to your wrist. Good luck.

I'd say yes if he has the wrist for it, period. I think this is a more gentlemanly and interesting statement piece in a collection. Much easier to read, calendar complication, sunburst blue, and, in my opinion, far more beautiful than a Daytona or even a Day-Date. I would certainly do it.

For me, I’d find the annual calendar much more interesting and useful than a stop watch. Plus that blue is really hard to beat.

I would do it in a heartbeat. The blue SkyD is an awesome watch. I have a blue SkyD and a white dial Daytona. I would part with my Daytona before I do with the SkyD.

A blue SkyD is much harder to obtain than a Daytona too.

Honestly I'd much rather a SkyD than the Daytona anyday of the week.

Both are great. I have a skydweller and Daytona, prefer the skydweller. It’s very unique and complex. Depends on wrist size. I have a 7.5” wrist and the skydweller looks better on my wrist.

From a collectability standpoint I would advise you to go with the Sky-Dweller.

If it was the white face Daytona I would have said yes. Keep your skydweller for now.

Every day and twice on Sundays. The SD is such an amazing watch; makes the Daytona look... ordinary.

They’re both great watches. Hard to say but I would keep the Daytona. Whatever you choose, you can’t go wrong.

Do the trade then work on getting a white Daytona to go with the Blue Sky Dweller.

You said you probably won't swap but just to be clear, do you really like the Daytona? The fit and feel, the look etc?

I'm just not a fan of the Daytona and the smaller men's Rolex watches but (and I'm surprising myself a bit) if you like the Daytona then honestly there's no way you should swap for the SkyD.

If there's anything about the Daytona you love then I doubt very much that the SkyD can come close to filling the hole that selling it will leave.

Daytona is a classic, it's understated, slim, wear with anything...SkyD just isn't.

They're both very hard to come by/expensive but there is one other thing to consider. You can almost have the look of a blue SkyD in the blue dial DJ41, but there's nothing remotely close to a Daytona.

If it was me then it would be SkyD (white) but if you bought the Daytona because you love it then keep it.

I've owned both and frankly liked the SD better. Among other reasons to do the trade is that the SD is harder to get. The black Daytona isn't as popular as the white and has been priced accordingly on the grey market. The only reason I got rid of the Sky D is because it was too large on my 6.5in wrist. If your wrist is larger than you'll find the SkyD has much better wrist appeal. Although I've seen recently the white Daytona is really highly priced I've seen some relative bargains on the black. So it's easier to replace if the mood hits.

As an one and only watch I favour the D500, more versatile and discrete.

The SkyD seems too be harder to come by, so if you like the reference and it’s not too big on your wrist, I’d make that trade.

Can’t go wrong here. Granted two completely different watches with massive aesthetic differences. Personally I’d take either white or black daytonaC over SkyD but it is very close.

My skyD gets way more wrist time than my daytona
Pick based on your wrist size, which one you like more and functionality! Don’t go with any hype!

In a heartbeat. I own a 520 Daytona and a black SkyD. The SkyD wins every single time. The Daytona is a great watch but the Sky is on a different level.

Don't take my advice because for some reason I just never liked the Daytona, so I'd almost always choose something else over it.

What is your level of attractedness to the SkyD? Movement-wise it is one of the more complicated Rolexes out there, and the blue-dial seems to be extremely desirable right now. Will it still have the same level of desirableness in the future? I don't know.

The Daytona, by contrast, is a little bit more of a known entity, and chronographs in general are a little bit more traditional (maybe has more long-term staying power?). In short, I'd say do the trade only if you truly love the SkyD and it looks good on wrist.

Tough choice. My wrist is on the smaller side so I would keep the Daytona. If you can wear the SkyD comfortably, why not trade?! But it also depends if you have other watches. If I only had one watch, I would prefer the black dial Daytona that goes with everything. If I had other black dials, I would go blue. In any case, value-wise it's an even deal.

I would do the swap. Love the Daytona but the blue dial SkyD is mesmerizing!
