Have an offer on the table - Blue SkyD for Black 116500 Daytona
Both watches are in mint condition and a few years old. The trade is even, one watch for the other. The trade was presented to me by a close friend. I’ve never thought about this prior to today and although I most likely won’t pull the trigger, I am thinking of it.
I have the black Daytona. Would you do it? Y/N |

Depends on the watch you like best. Both are in demand and go for similar amounts on the grey market. So go with the watch you like personally as it's a wash in terms of value. I have the 116500 ceramic black Daytona and it's a beauty. I prefer this to the SD blue but others may not.

Which do you like more? I think, as far as value is concerned, it is a fair trade.

Take the blue SkyDweller. The MSRP is also higher and its more rarer and more complex as per the movement. It's never going to down under MSRP ever and if you paid MSRP on your Daytona, that's a steal in your mind that you paid $12K USD for Blue SkyD!

All else being equal, I'd rather have a blue skydweller. However, its too big for me. So the answer for me is no, I wouldn't trade a daytona for that.

I would do it. From what I’ve heard from multiple ADs the production of the SS Sky D is lower than the Daytona. But the two watches wear pretty differently so I would make sure it suits you before you make the deal.

I think value wise it’s a fair trade but I would not do it because the SD is a bit too similar to a DJ if you get my point. It’s a great watch no doubt about that. I just think that its size at 42mm is slightly on the bigger side and as the trend shifts towards smaller sized watches again the SD might be less favoured as compared to the Daytona. Ultimately it’s your decision and I hope you feel happy whichever choice you make.

I have both the black dial Daytona and the blue Skydweller. It seems to be a fair trade, but I honestly don't know what to recommend.

Tough call. I have to try it on as there is a significant size difference and wear between the 2 pieces.

I have Daytona C White And just added the blue Skydweller. Obviously both great pieces, but I would personally miss the Daytona I traded it away. Just my two cents.

Keep the Daytona. Add a Blue DJ.
The skydweller is a great watch but if you have any hesitation going in, it’s not for you. |

Both cool watches, but very different watches. I have both, but I don't think I would want to part with either for the other.

Keep your Daytona and save more money for Sky Dweller blue dial.
It's better to have both. |

just look at how many each of these are available in grey market. The blue sky dweller is definitely more difficult to get. Even if you regret in the future it won't be too hard to get the 116500 back

I won't. Adding is fine but no way at the expense of the SS Daytona.

I’ve been desperate to get a Daytona (not to the point of paying grey) but I would never swap my Blue SkyD for one.
This is a Sophie’s choice |

I don’t think you can even begin to make this decision without trying in the SkyD. If it were me it would be a no-brainer- I would keep the Daytona, simply because the SkyD is too big for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |
