Great advice. Looks like it’s time to crack on and see what happens!

I have a very active 2.5 year old boy and a DJ 41 as a daily. It’s holding up well. Yes, it’s got a lot of scratches (from playground equipment, cutlery and furniture contact), but I don’t think it looks worse for it. It also survived a lot of porridge, vomit, pool water, bodily fluids that shall remain unnamed and on one memorable occasion a fall into the (thankfully flushed) toilet.
By the way: a good argument for having just one watch is that my son knows that a blue plain bezel DJ41 is dad’s watch and a Nomos Metro power reserve is mom’s watch.

My beater is a $29 quartz I bought a decade ago and has taken a helluva beating over the years.

I cringe when the kids say; “hold my juice box and watch this.” :)

I’m really curious to hear how your kids are going to destroy a watch made of 904L SS? I think your overthinking it man - wear you Sub.

Side note I put myself into the woods at about 50mph skiing while wearing my 16570. The watch was fine…. Me not so much. Ha!

If you don’t want to use the sub as intended, I agree with getting a new watch to be your beater. I recommend a ceramic bezeled AP Royal Oak Offshore.
The bezel is quite prominent and will take most of the hits for you and look like new.

I fell down a flight of stairs this week.

My 16570 is just fine.

I'm still having trouble getting around, though I'm getting better, little by little.

Wear your favorite one for play and don't worry. Battle scars from fun with your kids add great memories over time. Stuff comes and goes, but kid memories are priceless.

Lol I feel you. My neck was sore for about a week. The watch didn’t seem to have any issues. Ha!

Right.

I’m waiting for the guy who was gardening in the platinum DD baguette dial to chime in. That’s his beater.

I think it happened last Wednesday. I was house sitting for a friend and was going down the stairs when I slipped. It was only about seven steps, but I managed to pull muscles and mess up my metatarsals, my knees, my back, my ankle and my wrist.

I'm done bowling for a while, so I had to get a replacement for my league and put my lessons on hold.

It could have been a lot worse, as I didn't break anything, especially my neck, and most of the injuries are just aggravations of previous injuries. I'm sore as hell, though.

I'm a walking compendium of orthopedic pathology.

I’d just wear any of the watches you have…they are all built for whatever kids and dogs can throw at them.
