I own the 114060 and a 16613LB and think both are fine watches. I prefer the Submariner ND as I like the balance of the dial with no date and the colors of steel and black just work so well for me. If I had to get rid of all my watches but one I would keep the Submariner ND.

Your choice and I love them both no wrong decision. The bluesy is a louder piece it stands out if you don't like people making comments then I say go more under cover with the ND. Good luck..

Go with the Sub ND first.
I started my collection with a black diver (Omega PO) and added a few more afterwards (latest one being the SD43). However, I bought a Bluesy last year because I was a bit bored of wearing black divers that kind of all look the same, especially if I want something with some pizzazz when going out. I don't wear it daily, so to me it's definetly a second watch in the collection. If you really love both the Sub ND and the Bluesy, it would make sense to start off with the more understated ND and then perhaps add the Bluesy down the road to alternate and wear something a bit more fun. To me the Bluesy is a "wow" watch, the dial is stunning and the blue/gold/steel combo works really well. |

That's the crux of it.
I'd go with the TT Sub Date but the 116613LB. I don't think the white font on the 12 looks much good. Silver or grey maybe, but not white. It's that personal preference thing again. My Bluesy gets worn in rotation and is as good a daily as any of my other SS or TT watches. Once the PCLs have hazed a bit, it will wear well and look the same for a long time unless you beat it up. |

I have had the new bluesy, twice. I tried to like it for the long haul, but it didn’t always sit with me. I could not stand when the dial look neon blue in the light. I was always turning my wrist to see the dial as dark blue. Was hard to match everything as well. I had the 114060 and now the 124060. The 124060 will never leave, it is the perfect watch. The black dial and ceramic bezel is a classic look. Can wear with anything, all occasions. The 2 watches make a great pair, but without a doubt from personal experience, if you keep only one you keep the 124060.

I’d never buy a no date sub unless I was retired and knew having a date was irrelevant, so bluesy all day everyday.

For me if I could only have one watch it would probably be the ND, but there is a place for both....

"Guys, I have purchased a base model pickup truck and a fancy luxury sedan. I need one vehicle to do everything. Which should I keep?" How is this even a question?

I would say the no date sub. I feel later down the road if you decide you really want the bluesy that theyre easier to get.

Not a good comparison. This is more like comparing a luxury sedan to a flashy sports model. Some prefer to go the traditional route.

You are conceding the modern Submariner is no longer a tool watch. I was giving it the benefit of the doubt. The Bluesy is disqualified on PCLs alone.

You have no other watches and yet somehow you have managed to pick up those two at retail! That's impressive. If you really like the bluesy, keep that but if you think its too dressy for a daily then move the 124060 along, pocket some cash and get a more modest daily and keep the bluesy for weekends and more special occasions.
Or you could also sell both and get something seriously impressive. As far as problems go, yours is a good one to have. Enjoy whichever watch you decide to keep. |

OP's post wasn't super clear. He says he can only "choose" one, which could be interpreted differently from "keep" one. I was unsure if he was saying the AD was giving him the choice to buy one or the other, or if this post was effectively asking "which watch is better to flip?". The ND Sub will probably get the most votes for that angle as well.

Currently sport a 124060 but am on the hunt for a bluesy. Both incredible watches, but if we’re talking about purchase order, there’s my vote. Can’t go wrong with the Steve McQueen sub.

The one that started it all the iconic ND. Hard to exclude it from any collection.

These are both Submariners, it’s more like comparing two of the same model pickup truck, but one having a more fancy trim package. (Sorry, I don’t know sh*t about vehicles, otherwise I’d try to make a good analogy.)

Actually he was correct. 124060 is the submariner and the bluesy is a submariner date. Pretty sure that is what he was referencing.

Bluesy Or No-Date Sub?

Everyone knows that. Of course they’re both Submariners. Fact is, these are 2 totally different animals altogether anyway. However, one is in fact “The Submariner.” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

No date sub. Works for everything. No date also means no cyclops which I personally think is a big plus. Anything hold on the other hand is a big negative for me. So that would be easy. And with the price difference between the two you may still be able to pick up a fun second watch.
