The Explorer II Polar really is a piece that needs to be seen in person. The contrast of the stark white dial, the matte black hands and indices is so unique. Add in the orange 24 - hour hand and text, and the blue lume. It might be the most underrated watch in the catalog.

You got very lucky on this purchase - congrats! There are many variables to accessing a purchase, most of the time obtaining a Polar is very difficult.

Completely agree with all the above. Even though I’ve tried it on over the last couple years in store, I didn’t fully appreciate the complexity of the watch until I wore it all day. Every time I looked down I smiled. As someone who travels quite a bit for work I’m looking forward to getting a lot of use out this piece.

Congratulations! It is a superb watch that garners much attention. Could be good or bad. But it is my daily and I love it.

I agree, in artificial light it doesn't pop as much because the lume plots turn to an off white. But, in a room full of natural light the lume plots are as white as the dial and there's whole different look.

Thank you for this description. I struggle to evaluate watches in non natural light and this helps.

What is the watch like in low light conditions - sunset or dawn?

I guess it depends if the lume is charged or not. If the lume is at all charged, which it usually is, the plots will have at least a blue hue to them.

Just got a back from a walk at dusk. No issue with visibility and even had a slight hint of lume. I would equate the lume to using a dimmer switch. It had just a little bit shining. I’ve attached a picture but it’s low quality to meet the upload standards.

It seems that I have been seeing quite a few 226570 incomings. Mostly white dials. There is one I haven't noticed yet though.

Mine!!!

Ugh. 6 months and waiting.

Congrats OP!! What an amazing watch!

I just got on the list myself. I really don't want to wait 2 years. Grey market might be my only way...

I love the Exp2 Polar. Always reminds me of the very fond feelings I had as a kid enjoying orange whips and orange creamsicles. Congratulations!

Heck, maybe it's just perception, but it seems I've seen a lot of these incoming lately.

It makes me excited because I just hit my three month mark of waiting at an AD with a previous purchases. Hopefully soon.

Congrats OP! It looks smashing on your wrist.

Completely agree! I always liked it but once I bought it and wore it for a couple days it was a different feeling and appreciation!
