Incoming Explorer II

Wow. I knew I liked the watch but didn’t realize how much.

Picked this from my local AD a few days ago and it’s better than expected. Such a versatile watch with an absolute beautiful polar dial. I now understand why so many threads comment on how much they this watch.

Nice! How long did you have to wait? I just got on the list at two of my local ADs and they said it could be a couple years..

It was about two years but in all honestly I never even asked about it until I bought it. I picked up a Wimbledon a couple years ago and after that created a wish list with the store. Stopped in a few times a year to browse but never really tried to purchase. Got lucky the other day when I stopped in when I asked to confirm it was in my list.

As I stated above. Such a beautiful watch and Better than I could have hoped for.

Thanks all. I’ve been enjoying the watch all weekend. Haven’t really taken it off. lol.

I’m sure many have different views on this but I’ve been thinking about the purchase and how unexpected it was. I didn’t get a call from my AD, I just stopped by on a random day and was thrilled to wear it out. Really makes me enjoy the journey!!

Now what to go for next!?!?

Currently have a Datejust Wimbledon fluted Bezel oyster bracelet, IWC Portofino and the Explorer II.

The new GMT is amazing but wonder if I want another GMT or try and go a different direction.

Skydweller is high on the list as is the new GMT on a Jubilee.

I’m in the same boat as you but with the GMT BLNR.

I’m really thinking about the Polar as a second.

Do you have another white dial watch? Are you considering the Omega, Speedmaster, in white?

I have one which is ironically my first mechanical watch but since then I've always gravitated to black dials.

My concern is I'm intrigued by the polar because it's different rather than it would compete with my other watches.

However every time I see it I'm really impressed with the dial.

Ahh just like the "old days" *sniff*

Crazy to think how many special "commemoration" type purchases were not able to be fulfilled over the past few years, as customers were turned away due to no stock. Used to be Rolex AD's bread and butter - now it's all wait lists and relationships and games.

Your story is so great to hear. Congrats!
