It's also way more comfortable to me than the 12 series sub. The only thing I'm really after now is a jubliee bracelet and maybe a BB58 for a 10% change up.
Definitely consider the 54. I sold it as part of saving up for the GMT, and it's the one I think I miss the most. I've had a number of different black bays, but the 54 was the best followed very closely by my black bay 58 blue.

The 54 was so shockingly thin (in a good way) and wore so much like a vintage sub. It also had a fantastic bracelet with the added adjustment. That will be what I ad back next I think

Got my BLNR on Oyster a couple years ago. Except for sleeping and showers, it has never left my wrist since.

That may be my favorite in the stainless steel lineup. Great looking watch.

Good suggestion! I tried on the 54 last year in Charleston and really liked it! I ended up with the 58 which i regrettably sold after getting my sub which I have no regrets selling.

I have mine on Oyster. If I could only have one watch for life, I often think it would be the BLNR. It’s rugged and robust whilst also elegant with the PCL.

@pearson1995 - would you have the BLNR over your panda as a one watch for life? I have the BLNR jubilee, used to have a black sub as my last watch, but always wondering is the panda the best all rounder and best steel Rolex for me for life, but a fair premium again for Daytona, however the demand has always been there for the Daytona so guess it’s proven over a long time

I actually own both. The BLNR with its date feature and water resistance (I know both are 100m but I don’t fully trust the chronograph lock system haha), I would say it’s a more useful complication for day to day life.

Objectively, for me, the Daytona is superior. Nice dial, cooler complication and I prefer the non maxi case. However, not having a date for daily wear annoys me.

Which is why I say, I’m lucky to own many nice watches, but if I was to advise someone on 1 watch for life, the BLNR would be probably my pick.

If you have a collection, then Daytona over BLNR. But ideally both

Did you buy from AD? Otherwise the bezel looks fake to me. The blue looks off.
Looks like the Smurf blue on the WG Sub.

That is the correct blue and is just like the blue on the white gold sub. If is a royal beautiful blue.

I'll answer for a 2nd time - got it from the AD! Its legit man - that's how the bezel looks in different lighting.

The first pic was taken outside in direct sunlight in RAW format. The blue is a royal blue and its stunning.

Had my 116 version for 5.5 years - still beautiful, scratches, dings, patina and all! I haven't babied it. Wore it hiking, at my wedding, job interview, ocean, travel. It really is a perfect watch.

I can solve your conundrum. Box the watch up very carefully and send it to me. Voila, problem solved, and you can get back to wearing the "other stuff" in your collection.

It’s fine. I will chime in and say the color/hue can easily look like your pics in certain lighting. I have taken a few BLNR pics myself…….

FYI: It’s the same blue hue ceramic on the YMII. Rolex really can do blue ceramic perfectly.

They are meant to be worn and worn well. When my kids inherit these one day they won’t wonder if I wore them or worry about value retention.
