HUGE issue with new BLNR - Help!

I've had the BLNR in the collection now for about 3 weeks and I've noticed a few major issues. I will attach some pictures to try to capture the main problem:

Look at this thing. It makes my other watches look ugly!

The next major issue is that is hogging up the wrist time. I've been wearing this thing pretty much non stop since I got it.

Poor Submariner isn't even getting any wrist time in the pool! Its a sin - I been swimming with the BLNR! 100M water resistance tested at 2M! It's a go!

Ok, so yes my title was click bait!

One thing that really jumps out to me is the case is significantly smaller than my 116610 maxi case Submariner. The BLNR wears much more refined than the Submariner. I measured it with calipers and the lugs are 3mm thinner! The jubilee bracelet with its smaller links and full articulation makes it the most comfortable bracelet in my collection. Yes, the polished areas on the clasp are getting scratched up - oh well. I bought this to wear!

I do love this reference and think it is one of the most beautiful references in the catalogue. I find that the BLNR is right up to the edge of dressy and flashy for me and how I wear my watches. It pushes me just slightly out of my comfort zone of watches like my Explorer 1 and I am finding I like it!

Hahaha I am right there with you OP. Had mine for 7 months now, and I've worn it at least once every day! My poor speedie barely gets any love right now. But I've solved that problem by putting one or the other on part always through the day or when I get home after work.

I also told my AD I had no interest in a submariner now. I just don't see what that watch offers that is better in any way than the GMT!

I only disagree with you on one point, and I will admit I'm biased based on what I was offered - I actually think the oyster is even more comfortable. Admittedly I have only sampled a jubilee at stores, but man alive my oyster is honestly just so perfect.

Now, for my honestly complaints:
1 - I was actually quite underwhelmed by the lume on the GMT. Unless there is a good charge from a light source, I found my Tudors were more torches than my Rolex.
2 - I'm am yet undecided on the PCLs. I've been thinking of getting the bracelet fully brushed but have also heard horror stories about warrantees being refused because of it, so will at least wait until after the warrantee period.

Otherwise, man I love this watch.20240623_160621.jpg

Agree on the lume. My BB58 is much stronger.

Also agree that BLNR on oyster is too close to Submariner date but you could always do the no date Submariner! Jubliee makes it different enough for me to own both and the Submariner is still (just barely) toolish enough to wear for work for me.

I am no fan of ceramic, but that one on an oyster bracelet doesn’t look half bad.

Totally understand all your “issues” OP. So much so that despite having owned multiple Rolex watches, my BLNR is now my only one!

If happened to me. It is a big reason why my BLNR is the last man standing. I couldn’t get any others on. It is perfect for any occasion and just looks better to me than other watches I have had. Also by far the most comfortable watch I have had with the jubilee. Love it.

Beautiful and congrats! This one will likely be my next Rolex purchase.. I just keep flipping back and forth on Oyster vs. Jubilee. Just can't decide.

There is only one way to fix this issue... just give it away to a worthy person. Perhaps someone in Oregon, that loves that watch and can properly dispose of it?

I never thought I’d own a watch I love more than my beloved Submariner. But then I got my BLNR. The BLNR is my favorite watch now.

I have the OG version on oyster. Since I have a bunch of other GMTs it’s probably the first one to go, but I still love it. I think on jubilee like yours it’s better!

I sold my sub 3 months after getting the BLNR. And I wore if forcefully twice in those 3 months.

I am starting to realize there are multiple forum members that sold their other watches after the BLNR, or hardly wear their other watches. I think I counted 5 on this thread alone. It really is a collection killer.

I can totally agree with OP! I’ve had quite a few watches in the past but BLNR jubilee is something else! I love it and I managed to get one with the month and year of my son’s birth so need to try and keep it!!

I do have thoughts sometimes of going for something like a panda but that’s probably just me browsing watches and instagram for too long, the BLNR is stunning! A great one and done with a dressy side and equally at home as a nice daily! I think it could be my one and done!

I'm in agreement with everything you're saying. I love my BLNR which made me quickly sell my Submariner. I recently went into an AD and saw a sub and just found it plain and boring compared to the BLNR, which I never tire of.

It's also way more comfortable to me than the 12 series sub. The only thing I'm really after now is a jubliee bracelet and maybe a BB58 for a 10% change up.

GMTs on jubilee wear so much more comfortable than on oyster. And yes, thinner profile due to not having thicker case back that is necessary for diver depth rating on the Sub.
