Only once thankfully.

The watch was a Speedmaster Professional Moon Watch. I didn’t enjoy the purchasing experience and it went downhill from there. Thankfully the watch was returned and I got my money back with no problems.

I take my time when deciding what to buy so there have been no other problems. I’m still thinking about getting another Speedmaster in the hope that the experience will be better next time.

BB58 - really wanted to love it but there was a little too much gilt on it for me. Sold out of it and managed to pick up a 114060 that hasn't left my wrist since

I have a few and given up many. For me, it’s not an issue of “didn’t bond with it” and more an issue of wore it for a while liked it and then got bored. I realized that for me the itch is always there for more watches and that never will go away. The watches I have kept have stuck around long enough to become meaningful and by that I mean associated with memories and events in my life. Even these, I may fantasize about what I can get in a flip or trade, but wouldn’t dare unload. It’s more of a mental exercise, or the thought of something new and not that I don’t like the watch I had. I think that’s a useful exercise to many considering a flip. Consider if you really dislike what you have versus want the thrill of the new piece. Speaking for myself, it’s the thrill of the new watch, I do love the watches I have but the problem comes in that we can have a new piece by trading an only piece which puts less skin in the game to to speak. I try to think if I see a new watch, would I still want this if I put down the entire amount and did not trade/flip for it.

Rolex Hulk.

Stayed with me around 3 months and just didn't bond.

I guess the green isn't for everyone.

Just one. A Speedy. I got a good discount from my AD (who is also my Rolex AD), I tried it on, they sized it perfectly. For some reason it just didn't take. It ticked all the boxes, yet I couldn't bond with it. Two links less later, my wife rocks it to great effect. It looks superb on her and I don't miss it a bit.

I got a DJ36 as my first Rolex. I thought it was ok but didn’t really love it. After I got a Sub I never wore the DJ anymore and eventually got rid of it.

Several times......and I have learnt that if you don't love it the first day, it is almost impossible to grow that love over time.

My friend is a GM at a high end Jewelry/watch Rolex AD. He gave me a “ Batman “ to wear. I had it for a couple of weeks. I’m glad I didn’t buy it, because it just didn’t do it for me. Although the blue on the bezel is nice, I didn’t like how it broke up the look of the watch. I returned it back to my friend. Went back to wearing my SS 36mm DateJust, and SS Submariner Date. I prefer a more traditional, classic Rolex.

I had always loved the Smurf in pics. But once I tried it on at an AD it was just way too blingy for my taste.

Almost like a Boeing 777 Dreamliner lighting up a radar where as I like humble under the radar Rollies

So not quite “I got it and didn’t love it” but almost

No doubt! The BLRO has been my grail watch since the mid-80's when I saw Tom Selleck wear one on Magnum PI. I never pulled the trigger on one though because I was afraid 40mm would be too small for me. But once my tastes evolved toward smaller (but not small) watches I figured what the heck. Take a chance.

I think the lack of bonding can be explained. That watch cries out for either a black Rubber B or Everest strap, or an OEM steel bracelet.

.......sometimes life doesn't quite work out like that. I have purchased three 16710s....none of which I bonded with. There was a 16570, same thing, a 16610LV (the green bezel means it doesn't go with much), 16600, 16613....and a 116710LN (which I have owned for 13 years and am still not that enamoured with). There have been others. As I said, sometimes in life things can be a little complicated

Wow. What came after that? I assume you did that to improve your chances for another watch? Have you been able to purchase that yet?

What did you do, wait to see if your feelings changed, lived with it or got rid of the watch?

Yes. Sold and moved on.

I really liked the AK, let it go because in daily use I miss the date function.

More than I have bought and actually bonded with, including plenty of Rolex.

It has taken me ages and many watches to get to a point where I currently have a five piece collection I am totally into.

In the mean time my husband and my dad benefit with a fair amount of spill over. My husband got a Grand Seiko, a Seamaster and a DateJust out of me, my dad a Z-Blue and a Pelagos. The rest got sold!

An Omega Globemaster. Something was just off about the design of the dial and the case was too thick. Ended up moving it on.

I had the same problem with this watch (but not tt). I was excited for it but once I got it, the black on green on grey made it too tough to see the numerals in some lighting conditions. Also the one marker that lumed just made the dial feel lopsided.

I've had a few recently maybe because under the recent hyped conditions I've been forcing it, but the VCO and BP FF were two I had wanted for a few years but when I had them on my wrist they didn't quite work, altho I may give them another chance.

Yes an Omega Sea-master Titanium Chronograph. Just to bulky hands didn't line up, clasp broke twice, auto winder broke, came back from repair with a finger print inside crystal then dust inside the case. It was a good lesson that Rolex is a far superior brand.
