Tudor is a great watch. Tried on the Pink chrono yesterday. I was very impressed with the build quality especially the bracelet and clasp.

Owned the BB58 79030N for a few weeks, but the bracelet and overall wearability forced me to sell it. Otherwise a gorgeous piece! Even higher quality construction than the 5 digit Rolex era, I must admit. Thing ran good too! Darn good! Within 1s/day. Yeah... Tudors' are pretty cool and fit the "daily" beater bill as far as I'm concerned.
I also sold my BB58 a few years ago, but recently added the BB54 on rubber and it's a tremendous watch. I also have the 41mm Submariner and the 54 is taking up most of the wrist time.

I feel like I'm wearing a vintage Sub, but with all the bells and whistles of modern watchmaking.

I’ve had a Milgauss, Datejust, modern no date sub, and a 1966 5513 sub and my favorite “Rolex” is the bb54 I got for my wife. It’s much more practical and fun. Great vintage styling and a real go anywhere do anything watch.

Like you, I’ve been looking at a pelagos as well. Very cool take on a sub imo.

I have several Rolex and recently aquired a Pelagos 39. It is a really good all rounder with great lumes. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it

Even after you get the Tudor, your thoughts of how the Sub would have look on your will make you regret not waiting. I think you should get both.

I have both and if the Sub is what you want, then wait. I like having the option of not wearing a Rolex certain places. It is not a direct replacement for the new Subs, different material and different case size but similar look. If, like me, you're into dive watches, they both can have a place in your collection.

I was recently sitting in a meeting and one of my coworkers had it on. I am absolutely buying one for my wife, so that i can eventually take it and wear it. It’s fantastic! I am a huge Tudor fan, but hadn’t had the chance to see a BB54 in person, it’s awesome.

Pelagos 39 is a winner. No sub replacement and I have both but a great watch nonetheless. Just putting it on a red rubber for Zealande today! Fun summer beach watch

I'd wait for the Sub and save up for the Tudor.

Tudor FXD is my current favorite. Tool watch to beat all other tool watches. Light, super legible, incredible lume. Flies under the radar, too.

Yes, FXD is easily one of the best tool watches available.

I purchased the Tudor GMT with the opaline dial and I love it. I have 3 Rolex GMT's, and the Tudor is every bit of a watch as the Rolex's. You will not regret it!

There’s nothing wrong going that route but unless you have the willpower to allow it to curb your appetite for the sub, I’d wait it out.

Not sure if it's just a phase, but I wear my Ranger WAY more than I wear all my other rolexes put together.

The challenge with wearing Rolex (at least in London) is that it’s highly noticeable and at risk. Tudor, on the other hand, most people don’t notice.

It’s unfortunate that in London you have to be very careful and that some people have no respect for others possessions, no matter how hard someone has had to work for them.

It’s a shame that once you get to a point you can afford, say, a submariner, you then realise you can’t risk wearing it…and so it becomes a home watch!

The P39 is indeed very nice.

It will darken over time, and pretty quickly.
Added the white hands, it is pretty much the opposite to a nice and pretty diver.

Good point, you can wear it everywhere without any fear.

I keep leaning towards an FXD to wear at the gym etc. It seems like a great tool watch all round, but I'm just not sure if I would regret it or not after buying.

I don't know what it is... I fear it wouldn't get much more wrist time outside of that and having owned a Black Bay Pro as my only ever Tudor (since sold) I didn't get on with the snowflake hands. I'm not sure I can see past that. I know it's a perfectly capable watch, I'm just not sure it compares to others in my collection

has anyone ever bought one and regretted it? I regretted my BBPro...

So I had the opposite experience - I bought Tudors first, got used to the chunky hands and snowflake, found it super legible then went to Rolex and wished they had thicker hands…funny that!

Now I appreciate the differing beauty of both Rolex and Tudor without falling for those who (quite unnecessarily) denigrate Tudor’s snowflake.

I think Tudor has come of age and has a robust, attractive and deep offering and seems to get better every year.

I initially wasn’t bowled over by the photos of the blue FXD but in the flesh it really grew on me and now it’s next on my list!

It’s a tool watch that stands on the precipice of luxury without tipping over the edge.

Substantial without being shouty.

Pelagos 39 is very tempting. If I didn't already have two subs, I'd definitely pick one up.

Lately this has been the same for me. Ranger and MN FXD. Still wear the Rolex watches, but the Tudors are really getting worn more and more as time goes on. Appreciate the functionality of the FXD and vintage vibes of the Ranger.

FWIW…

The Tudor boutique in SoCal (Costa Mesa) took a 50% deposit on a BB Monochrome with promise of 3-4 weeks. I received the call after two weeks.

…and I’m loving this watch! Think I can live with “almost a Sub” feeling because I paid 1/3rd the price

Love my blue Pelagos!

Never gonna spend $30-40K for a 116619, the Pelagos 42 works perfect for my needs!
