I’m lucky enough to have all 3 having picked up the GRNR on jubilee just yesterday, the BLNR and BLRO are on oyster. The GRNR more than keeps up in their company, actually I think it looks better than the BLNR.

We all have our own opinions !

Inclined to agree.

Pepsi jubilee
BLNR Oyster
GRNR jubilee to differentiate further from sub
VTNR bin

Would be boring if we all
Liked the same

I like the way you think! VTNR Bin, indeed! And I’m a lefty saying that. To me, it’s too gimmicky. Every time I see someone wearing it on their left wrist, I cringe.

Didn't Kat just try on a GMT for the first time. The bezel color scheme of the one she tried is really not relevant. It is the idea of wearing a GMT for real that is the thing.

VTNR is the only one I like and I’m not left handed. Favorite was TT CHNR but after I tried it it was all wrong.

I have to agree, this has been amusing to watch. However, I think the point has been clearly made. Whether or not it’s been taken is another thing.

Cool to see that the GRNR is being exhibited more and more and that’s it seems to be more impressive in person than in pictures. I think that’s true for many Rolex watches IMO.

Well... anyone that thinks that A) Someone can't change their mind and B) an opinion won't change seeing something in person hasn't been into Rolex's long enough. This also goes the other way, ie, liking a watch then deciding you don't after you see it.

I used to think (over the past 20 years) that a Solid Gold Sub was just awful, now I have a complete different opinion and see how one could fit in my collection 100%. It would be easy to quote my old self saying I hated them though. ;).

To all those saying how terrible the GRNR, if your AD called you and said it was your lucky day and you could pick one up, would you? Or would you say no and reserve it for someone who really loves it? I think I already know the answer...

I’d say no. I think that answer will really vary from person to person. It’s funny seeing how many assumptions are thrown around here about other people.

I only called Kat out because as people/owners of the GRNR were posting pics of their new acquisitions, coming out with a blatant opinion such as she did is just not nice. We all have opinions of watches, for god sakes, it’s a watch forum. But there is a decent way of saying it. Again, I reiterate, we all have opinions, it’s too big, it too flashy, gaudy, small, dainty, wimpy whatever…..but “just ugly” as we are all posting pics……not cool. That’s it.

That’s true. I have to say that if there is one thing that drives me mad, here on TRF, it is when a member feels it necessary to crap all over someone else’s incoming thread. What’s the motivation there?

I could not agree more, as I do recognize THAT quote. Still stands, and my other partial quote being referenced “here” has been taken WAY out of context, (it was not in anyone’s incoming thread, but rather a direct comparison between two color ways, where the thread starter was asking if he should give up his BLNR on Jubilee for the new GRNR) just so that a few people could have some fun bashing another member. I’m rather used to it. Happens a lot, but I don’t let it get me down.

What was very unusual was that my husband was trying on watches, too.

That was scary. He showed real interest, for the very first time, in wearing a Rolex. He told my SA to put it on my list of watches I want. He also picked out a 41 slate dial Datejust, fluted on Oyster, and told her to add that to the list. I also added a blue dial Datejust 36, fluted on Jubilee. Now we’re in trouble. While playing with the watches, I asked about possible delivery time for my Explorer, and was told they are expecting a delivery within a few weeks. This surprised me, because I assumed they got deliveries weekly, which is not true, at least at my AD. I could see me and my husband sharing the GMT, or maybe he was just playing around to freak me out. He also tried on the blue dial bimetal Sub:

He realized, though, that his business has him working with a lot of questionable characters, a lot of the time, where he feared it would not be safe to wear it. He’d prefer a less noticeable watch, like the 2 he added to my want list. It was fun to see him show interest in Rolex, I think…….

That was Exactly the point of my thread. I finally got to experience a Rolex GMT. The color was not the main point.

Question is, are you into Bags, shoes, Tiffany, and other luxury brands usually reserved for the ladies? It would be hard to add watches to that..

No, just watches. I like nice leather Coach bags and wallets, from the outlet mall, but will use the same one, daily, until it looks shabby. Birkenstocks for shoes., or Nike Addis, or Converse sneakers. do own a Tiffany peace sign necklace.

Funny you should bring that up. Zurich had both references on hand as well. I favor the BLNR over the BLRO. Send pics when ready.

I thought this watch was going to be a possible add, however, the more pics I see, I don't think so. Especially if the price continues to hover around 20k. I mean, if it was @ msrp, it would be a maybe at best. At 20k? Good lord, no.

But IRL, it could be a different story, who knows.

This watch won’t be trading for 20K for long. That’s the new model bump. Give it a few months.

This is a very strange point. When products are being discussed, are we only allowed to have positive opinions?

Were you lining up for the Leopard Daytona?
