I did the same. Moved my Deepsea for a 5 digit Kermit. The wearability is much improved for me. My Deepsea was my only modern Rolex and I wanted to love it but, I didn’t in the long run. I removed the dive extension and got the size just right. I have a 7.5 “ wrist so it never looked out of place. The honeymoon did last for a while but, I found the nostalgia of the 5 digit neo-vintage and also matte dial vintage just pulled me back.

I'm in the same position my friend. I have the 126610ln and the 126600 and they're basically the same watch with different sizes (and a fully marked bezel). I'm looking to trade the SD43 for a James Cameron so at least it feels like I'm putting a different watch on at the weekends . . . if anyone's interested

100% !! I'm just realising it now after owning both for a year and discovering the Sub gets ALL the wrist time. I'm looking to trade the SD43 for a James Cameron. At least it'll feel like a different watch on the weekends

The hardest thing is giving up the SD43 as It was the first Rolex I bought that wasn't available immediately and I waited nearly 18 months to get one. (I went though hell waiting for it and have bond now )

Could you not have bought a James Cameron as a replacement for the sd43? And you get the same watch with a different feel and look?

But the JC is a completely different watch to anything else in the Rolex lineup. It's incomparable

Congratulations, I personally prefer the SD43 but what matters is what you prefer on your wrist. The first LV is a classic.

The SD43 is the happy medium between the Submariner and the Deep Sea but It's definitely closer to the SD than the Kermit, don't you think?

Agreed
But for me it may be the case it's neither fish nor fowl, or in the words of a famous yacht designer, it's not a Sloop or a Ketch with reference to a Yawl.
Regardless, it's a matter of very personal taste as we know, but the DSSD is totally in another realm that's never been fully commercialised the "Rolex way".

I do wonder how it would be recieved in the market if it didn't have that bit of red text on the dial.
In that regard i think visually, it's somewhat analogous to the D-blue in the Sea-dweller class

And after owning both the Sd43 and the 41mm Sub, the Sd43 has definitely become a 2nd choice in the morning
