Happy to be part of this forum....I'm 26 and I'm from Italy.

I'm gonna nuy my first Rolex, but I'm not able to make up my mind...I think DJ is for sure an evergreen but, on the other hand, I see the TOG little but more sportly...

Can you plpease give me your point of view? Or any info that can help me with decision?

both on...with a long sleeve shirt. Wear them around the store like you would a pair of shoes...look at the dial under different lights...is it easy to read in bright or dark light...is it starting to feel heavy and clunky...do I need a dual time zone watch...am I going to wear this everyday...etc?

If you are buying a vintage Rolex, you should know your seller and/or have strong respect for them. Buying a new Rolex from an authorized dealer will be realatively safe. If you are talking about the new Turnograph...there is little difference between it and the standard datejust and so I would chose it. The older turnographs have different feel and heft compared to the vintage datejusts...even though the only difference is the bezel.

Hope I've been some help...again...go try them on and take your time wearing them around the store. I know a vintage watch store in Los Angeles that will let you take the watch home for the weekend and see how you like living with it.

Welcome to both of you, Enrico and John. Nice to see first posters responding to each other. Just shows you we don't stand on ceremony here.

As for your question, Enrico, John is right. You have to try them both on before you decide. Around here we have devotees of both models and you'll have opinions on both sides. But only you will know which one smiles at you more. That's the one for you.

TOG is a DJ as well. I chose TOG b/c it has a red second hand/date that make the watch stand out.

Hi Enrico, if you're not in need of a functional bezel, then the DJ would make more sense and save you a few bucks in the bargain.

I am a DJ person, if I want a bezel with numbers, I will go with a sub.
A TOG IMO is a poor man's sub.

My wife has both - a white SS TOG with jubilee and a black SS DJ with oyster. Both are great, but we like the DJ a little better for the size.

I realized that my comment is pretty ignorant after I post it, its just my personal feeling towards the TOG, I would choose a YM or Sub over a TOG anyday yet I love the DJ with fluted bezel.

I often wonder what happen to all of the old gang. During the melt-down I went over to Animal House with Slugo, Jocke, LJ, and a few others.

I tried new-TURF a couple of times - it was cool, but I never really got that far into it. That's how I know some of the guys here - DMAN, JJ, and Atomic.

A lot of watches have come and gone during the years. Might be moving to France in a couple of years...was going to two years ago but family matters interrupted...now the dollar is tanking so I'll wait and see what they do in next years election and how the dollar does against the euro. If not Paris, may a little town in Italy...or Edinburgh...or even Charleston SC...but I'm really done with Los Angeles.

At the moment I have my self down to three Rolexes...my 1013...a very nice 1602 Date Just...and my 1803 on a very nice 18k Jubilee.
