Re: YM and serial numbers

I am somewhat confused.
In regards to Yacht Master... When did Rolex start engraving/etching (what ever you call it) the serial number along with words ROLEX under the crystal?

2006, 2007??? OR does it go by serial number "Z" "M"?

Reason why... I see one Z with the etching (claiming at least to be a Z) and I see other Zs without.
Personally I want one with the engraving.

Many thanks in advance for your response.

It depends on the watch model. There are Z serial Submariners out there without it, but I believe some DJs had it earlier. For the Sports models, it started somewhere in "Z" so what you are seeing makes sense.

Some of the Z's have it, some don't!! I was lucky with my Platty which is a Z-625XXX.

I have a Z-model YM (midsize), and mine has the rehaut engraving.

Rehaut engraving happened at different series for different models.

I think it happened for the YM late in the Z series.
