question about movement holder

I have purchased a movement holder specifically for the 3035. I am confused about some details. In the center of it there is a set screw with a flattened end. Is this for supporting the center of the movement while setting the hands back on? How is it adjusted?

Secondly, there are two sides - top and bottom - to the holder, and I don't understand the use of them?

I would really like someone to clue me in.

The holder has two sides because the movement does aswell. Dial side, and balance side.

The centre support is indeed for when you are setting hands. The second hand to be precise. It works by supporting the jewel, to get to it you must remove the auto work. To set the support the opposite side has a slot. Screw it up until it rests exactly on the jewel, but not pushing it up too high.

Thanks a great deal watchmaker. I do use the Rolex method and remove the auto wind before the movement comes out of the watch.
