Need your help! Does Rolex make a Submariner SS with Blue Dial and Blue Bezel?

I am wanting to buy my first Rolex and am super excited! I would really like a new/used Submariner in good condition. Here's my question - Is this a real Rolex, has it been custom painted?

http://www.timeandgems.com/Rolex-Men...al-_p_294.html

Does anybody know if the Submariner comes in Stainless Steel Blue Dial with Blue Bezel that is NOT custom painted? I don't want anything that someone has decided to alter in their garage with a bottle of paint, right?

really need your help. thanks!

Matthew

PS: I know that Rolex does make the WHITE GOLD Submariner with the Blue Dial and Blue Bezel...but I'm looking for Stainless Steel.

Indeed , I'm not at all sure but my guess they didn't . Anyway , just look what they sell. Most are fancy aftermarket dials on their watches .

As far as I know, Rolex does not make such a model in SS.

And welcome to TRF!

I think it looks great but the dial and bezel on that one have to be aftermarket.

I've had my eye on some of the watches that this company lists for sale, but even though their ebay feedback is superb and their BBB rating is A+, they've met with some mixed reviews on this forum. They claim that their watches are authenticated by an independent appraiser, but I can't find any information on the firm (Horological Appraisal Group of America, anyone?). If you do go ahead with the purchase, hopefully you can keep us updated on the quality of the transaction and the watch. Some of their prices do seem a bit too good to be true...

No, I don't think Rolex ever made a SS version. Especially with the 16610 style case. Not sure if that's the correct way to describe it. The older case with the smaller more round crown guards.

As far as I know, the only way you can get a blue sub is if you buy a Tudor.

There have been claims of an Asian market SS blue sub made in the '80s, but I have yet to see one even in print. So unless it can be proven...

The watch shown is a 16610, which only comes with a black dial and black bezel insert (except the lv with a green insert).

How this is now blue is anyones guess......

If you have the cash, you can buy two-tone, yellow gold or white gold with the blue dial. If your wants and budget call for Stainless Steel, I suggest you consider Tudor, Breitling or Omega Seamaster professional.

Or maybe get a 16610, a bluesy dial, and a blue bezel insert and make the swap!

"Swiss Made" = Luminova indices

"Swiss T<25" = tritium indices

Sorry Sakuraba, I guess what I meant to say is, most of the watches on that Site ( Time & Gems) show the "older" T<25 Tritium Signature on almost all of their Rolex's, while giving the impression that they are new ( 2000 - up) Their photos are identical in staging...I'm just sayin''''

The blue dial/blue bezel SS Sub looks really nice, but sadly Rolex don't make one...

A SS Submariner, with a blue dial and bezel insert, has long been rumored to have been produced by Rolex for the Asian market, in limited numbers. I think that one has effectively been chalked up to urban(?) legend, because so far I have seen no one claiming to have a genuine example of such a watch...

It would look something like that one, but be much older. And have more convincing dial printing. So I will venture to guess it is a Frankenwatch at best, or a just another Faulex.

IMHO genuine Rolex parts would be far more likely to hold up over time. We all know what an RSC would say about aftermarket bits being installed. I agree, and I also agree regarding copyright infringements.

I've seen a few of these and also heard (unproven) of tales of a "summer edition" Blue SS Sub by Rolex.

There's a seller on Ebay who usually has a couple for sale - they state that they make them themselves and Rolex never did. I guess with an old 16613 or 16618 dial in a 16610 SS case and with an after-market insert. They look exactly the same as the one from the seller above linked to in this thread.

I'd probably buy one if i thought i'd keep it more than the month or two i keep most watches as i'm partial to a touch of Blue on my wrist. I'd want to do a deal to get the original dial chucked in though so i could turn it back to Black if needed. (and obviously the correct inserts are easily available anytime)

if the watch is genuine then the dial and bezel are aftermarket, as far as I know they only made this available in WG

Stay away from Time & Gems. Do a search and you will see why.
